I checked mine and no probs at all. tried it on a cardboard box, then on a plastic box sitting on a cardboard box sitting on plastic shelves, then on a plastic table, then on a wood topped table, feet on the floor and feet off the floor while sitting on a chair with rubber wheels.

Have to say I did not see anything like this after trying the phone on different surfaces in my home. Thats a bummer though to get a phone like that. I would return that asap!

and your leaving it on styrofoam why? thats the most conductive material around

Tried on wood desk, no problems swiping.

I'm having this problem too, but only on the top half of the screen. Swiping works fine on the bottom half when it's on a non-conductive surface, just the top half is the problem. I tried my wife's who got hers the same time I got mine and she is not experiencing the problem. We both have Seidio Innocases on our EVOs.

i have sometimes had the keyboard be unresponsive but you can see the lettering being touched it just wont input.

I tried this without my case, and one out of every four tries, I can't pull the notification bar down. 1 out of 4 isn't too bad I guess. But when I put it in my case (seidio surface II), the issue goes away. The case definitely acts as a grounding mechanism of some kind. For those who are having this issue, try putting it in a case. Somehow it works for me.
