OTA Patch Kills Ability To Root?

I just read that the OTA patch that fixes the SDcard issue also kills the the ability to ROOT the phone. Is this true?

Re: OTA Patch Kills Ability To Root?

Nope. Been discussed several times. Unrevoked will work on a OTA updated phone.

Re: OTA Patch Kills Ability To Root?

Both methods to root still work with OTA. Tho toasts method will require you to reinstall the OTA from his radio update because his root over writes the update.

Re: OTA Patch Kills Ability To Root?

Thanks for the quick reply's. I am about to go pick up my Evo, but not being able to ROOT it might have been a dealbreaker.

Re: OTA Patch Kills Ability To Root?

I don't know why it would be a deal breaker. As to having a crappy phone thats slow ? Even if they did patch the phone someone would just hack it again . Look at the PSP they couldn't stop dark Alex .
