Re: Try this screen test with your EVO and report back
I think Aukutsutsu may well have hit the nail on the head when he said it's heavily dependent on environment, which would explain why not everyone is seeing it. Also, I think the reason only certain HTC devices have shown the issue is due to the digitizer being used in these phones, versus other phones and brands, may just be more susceptible to this type of issue.
As an example - I work in tech support for a major computer company. All of our laptops use capacitive touch pads and I have had cases were someone will call in complaining that their touch pad intermittently stops responding, even after replacing the touch pad. I even had one where their touch pad would not work at all in certain areas of their house. It's just something they had to learn to deal with and that may be the case with the type of digitizer being used in our case.

Re: Try this screen test with your EVO and report back
I also questioned about my own salinity level, or fatness of my fingers ;p but i tried this the other day with my friends hero, no problems. I let him try my evo. it has the same problem no matter who I let use the phone on a non conductive surface.

Re: Try this screen test with your EVO and report back
i have not experienced the issues that you are complaining about myself. if i was in your shoes I'd exchange it out for a new one to see if i had the same problem.

Re: Try this screen test with your EVO and report back
teddat,
Try moving your finger slower. If you are swyping really fast then you may not be applying enough force as it would then move the phone but when your holding it with the other hand you can apply more force as you are holding it and a faster swype does then work. Hope this is all it is and you don't have a bad handset. |

Re: Try this screen test with your EVO and report back
This thread is irrelevant now. Newest update solved my screen sensitivity issue. I can use the phone on ANY surface and it will register touch perfectly. thanks to all that commented and brought this attention to HTC and sprint.
there's some other minor bugs.. but i'll leave that to other threads. |
