these explanations are insightful and maybe the root cause. No, its not often i use the phone one handed. but alot of times at dinner/lunch you are perusing the web and it does not register a "swipe" but rather a "dotted line" this will be picked up as a unintentional tap. its frustrating when this happens when it does.

The explanations above also don't explain why i've only read HTC devices affected and not all htc devices. My friend has a iphone, my brother has a droid, and another friend has several nokia and a ipad. THEY don't have this problem on any surface.

i'm sure i won't die or lose a kidney by grounding my evo each time i use it by using 2 hands. but why only some of us are affected?
