weird, did you factory reset? u said u can see the screen now, so maybe that's worth a shot.

I have a few questions just out of curiosity:

1. Do you put your phone in your pants pocket?
2. Is your phone Rooted?
3. Is this a Google I/O phone?
4. If and what programs have you installed on the Evo 4G?

There have been reports of the Evo 4G's from the I/O conference having issues...also some programs from the Android Market cause the phone to do weird and unusual things...can you think of any programs you may have installed latly? The reason I ask if you put your phone in your pants or shorts pocket is due to the fact it can actually cause stress to the screen, in return causing a wire to come lose, or damaging the screen all together...There may not be any damage you can see..but its a valid question to ask. Either way, take it in to Sprint and have them replace it for you...NEW...since I don't think they have any refurbished yet.

The problem is the back light isn't coming on. The fact ha can see everything real dim means the digitizer is working the backlight is not. It could still be a faulty or loose cable most likely a bad backlight they can replace no problem but it is a sprint or bestbuy fix.

4. A bunch but none yesterday... the last thing I did was connect to my pc to move some pics and vids off of the sd card. This was successful. After I dc from pc about 5 mins later I got the txt msg notification pushed power to see what it was and...... no screen!

All night I left the batt out thinking that it would work in the morning... no deal! after work today I'm taking it to the sprint store.

You do realize the phone was given out to the attendees of the Google I/O, right? That was in the middle of May. So, it was soft-released almost a month ago, to roughly 5K lucky SOBs.....

Sorry to hear that....I also experienced your pain. Hopefully sprint has an extra to swap out with you. Usually with a software problem they will swap it out with no problems. (if they have extras)

Mine froze up yesterday for about 5 minutes. Was looking at the main screen and it became unresponsive. I went through all buttons trying to get a response. I turned is off and on but the screen still hung. That all at once, it let loose and started working. I told myself that maybe un update was going on or some house-cleaning task was holding the main thread.
