Its possible what you all are seeing is the difference in pixel density, both phones have the same resolution but of course the Evo's screen is bigger.

Hesse and his technical folks were well aware of pixel density and increased screen size above the norm when they sold us the HQ dream with their impressive presentations. That being said, I am holding out hope that the EVO is indeed capable of the video performance that has been hyped to the masses.

You can click on the HQ icon in the lower, right hand corner when you are in 3G. Or you can go into the youtube settings and set HQ to be on for all videos.

I just assumed that HQ would be better not similar quality.

i don't get why sites, htc, sprint keep saying hq is only for 4g. they make it sound like that's the only way to view in hq. not true. in the settings you can set it to hq always on... the incredible has an hq option if you go into the menus too. so why is there hype about this special youtube player for the evo? i know it can automatically detect if you're receiving a fast enough speed to go hq, but that doesn't mean other devices can't do it either. am i missing something?

definitely not as crisp as the TP2, even with HQ enabled over a wifi connection. i must say that i was rather disapointed with it.

well i dont have my tp2 to compare...but im not complaining about quality at all...idk maybe i just havent paid enough attention. hence, its not a problem

Well i just did a direct comparison with the tp2, pre, and evo all on the same wifi with the same video (iron baby) and Evo is head and shoulders above the other 2. Loaded faster too

Sounds good to me, hopefully mine will mirror your results when I get it tomorrow. BTW, can you do the same test using 3G as I rarely if ever use WIFI?

I'm not sure what videos you guys are watching, but holy shit...lol

My EVO's video quality in HQ is 10x better than the youtube quality on my TP2. The standard is about the same, but I think the TP2 might look a little better, but that's probably just because the screen is smaller and has the same amount of pixels.

Alot of the youtube vids i watched have been very pixelated. For example the youtube vid of "kobe breaks grant hills ankles" is very blocky, on hq it looks decent. On the tp2 i have it set to auto, and it looked sharp
