So glad we'll have source aosp builds with no sense. Come on Google and release 2.2 aosp. The reason that 2.2 Rom sucks is because they are copying a Rom made for the nexus. Froyo includes wimax and higher camera standards incorporated into its builds. Roms built off source will work perfect when built correctly. For those that want sense, you guys will have to wait for Sprint. At least most of you aren't like me and have already tasted froyo, its hard to go back to 2.1

You don't think we will see custom 2.2 ROMs with Sense before Sprint releases the official ROM?

But the update is confirmed. Not even Sprint is dumb enough to kill their golden EVO goose by not offering the update... I don't think..

We could, but it may not work right. Sense is going to have to be tweaked significantly before it will work with froyo. Devs could mess with the files or just wait for HTC to release them which is more probable.

It's true, 2.2 will be coming to the Evo...but it will probably be late Q3 or Q4 of this year. One thing they have to fiddle with is Sense UI with 2.2....and that may take awhile...but for sure the Evo is getting 2.2...just a matter of when...and I highly double that Sprint will let this one slide for as long as other phones have in the past....COUGH...TP2 6.5 update :P

This is my first experience with android, so right now im not in a rush to get 2.2
Im thoroughly enjoying and absorbing all of this android experience and learning/getting used to.

I cant imagine anything quicker and slicker than this version.
