Re: EVO newbie needs help rooting
SetCPU has something called profiles. These can be used to set things to work however you want given a predetermined scenario. So lets say that when my screen is off I don't need my "fone" overclocked. What I would do is set setcpu to underclock to 245 mhz and, wait for it, it would save battery life!! I guess my phone may lag with the screen off, but its hard to tell since the screen is off. Also lets say that when my battery is low I want it to last a long time. I can tell setcput to underclock to 745 mhz max when battery is under 20%. Now, it has been tested many times, an Evo running 745 to do normal tasks will not be laggy. You will notice lag when you are running games or apps, but if you are just making calls and texting, 745 works great. The Evo runs at 745 max when screen is on until it dies much later than it would have with the normal values.

Root and Rom
Well its been awhile since ive been able to use my evo, ive been on deployment and im ready to use my phone again. I originally rooted my phone back in june when it came out and installed OMJ's custom rom. I havent updated any radios or havent done any updates in general since that time because of my deployment. Now that im back id like to update to OMJ's new rom and radio. I see things have change, my question is, can i simply just update new radio and rom with my current root setup? or is there something new to do before i update roms that if i dont do it that itll brick my phone. Thanks for all the help and comments
