I'm trying to root. Yes, I'm kind of a noob. I have a series of questions/problems:
1. I had no problems with the Unrevoked. My question is what did it do exactly? I remember when I had the TouchPro I had to flash a ROM to unlock it. Is that what this does?
2. I've tried downloading the files for a full root (PC36IMG.zip;eng-PC36img; mtd-eng.img etc) and it won't download. A blank web page pops up. I did manage to get one to download, but upon completion, it terminated itself. I tried it again and opened it with WinZip, then it terminated itself. PLEASE HELP!!!! I WANT TO ROOT!!!!

hello im interested in rooting my evo im running 2.2 and my evo mostly stock just got the 3500 extended batt.
I would like to know which would b a good rom or root i should go with i dont want to mess up my phone. im also useing a mac.

I have put custom roms in my tp n tp2 a few years ago but dont remember wat i did then lol.

I read this same thread already somewhere else not sure where maybe xda. Anyways. I recogmend Fresh Rom, its very stable and very close to stock with all the crap taken out.

First, if you havent rooted yet go here unrevoked3 recovery reflash tool, v3.32

if you want to root and u ran unrevoked you are fully rooted...all the links that are bringing up blank web pages you have to right click on the links and hit save targets as or open in new tab and they will download. As far as the root you are done but it has just unlocked your phone and you know have the ability to pick any rom off of here or xda and flash the one of your chosing.

Ok i have used the unrevoked3 and now how do i put the new rom in. also would that rom give me the ability to get the hotspot for free

Copy the zip to your root folder of SD, go to recovery and wipe everything. Then flash the zip then youre good to go

Most roms have free hotspot. I would recommend choosing a newer Rom though like virus. I would flash a whole bunch of roms if I were you to see what's best for you

im rooted and i have installed the rom PropagandaX posted up. i also have a app called wireless tether. with this app now i can call sprint can cancel the hotspot. Will that app ever stop working or no.

Cancel only if you activated it through them. Wireless tether does the same thing
