Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

I use blue tooth headset so I haven't really made a call without it so I am happy.

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

My speaker is cracking and popping on the speakerphone and music youtube ect.. Took it too radioshack the rep there confirmed it and inspected everything, but he said I needed to speak to Sprint about it "because of their stock on hand issue"... Called sprint got the ring around that I needed to go to radioshack told the Sprint guy to cut the bullshit and get my problem solved or I can tell them to shove it cause I've had Sprint for less than 30 days... He gave me a 1-800 number and an extension to get my phone exchanged when they're open on monday...

If this helps anybody I have the 0003 rev and everything else works well..

I give the Radioshack guy a +1 in my town the mini usb cord had a bend in it and my phone wasn't charging properly he opened a new mini usb cable from their test area and gave me it and took my old one...

I don't understand what is the problem but every damn htc phone I've owned the tp1,tp2 and this phone the usb cord is junk and brittle :/

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

haha why are people mentioning how good the speaker is when listening on speaker??? I believe OP is talking about the earpiece, not on loud speaker.

Anyway, mine seems fine in calls. But i did notice that sound is terrible using visual voicemail. I hear a lot of static, which is kind of annoying.

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

my friend bought the EVO after me and reported the same problem. i think he said he had called sprint and they sent him an update or something and it fixed the problem. i'm actually starting to notice a little static in my earpiece to so i might give them a ring. if you do plan to call sprint, i'd suggest flashing back to stock if you aren't.

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

i really wish i could turn up the loud speaker, unless it's really quiet in the room sometymes it could be a struggle to hear that versus the sound in the room

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Android; Opera Mini/5.0.18302/19.808; U; en) Presto/2.5.25)

i dont get a crackling or distortion but id like a volume boost. i can confirm louder volume app does not work. funny as it did on my hero running 2. 1. hopefully a dev can fix this.

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

I did some searching from within the rom zips and there is no audiopara file in the evo roms, not even the fresh rom. I compared it to a fresh rom for the hero and sure enough there is a audiopara. I did notice some new audio files with the evo that must be the audiopara but renamed. Maybe htc decided to try to fool the devs by changing the name? I mean there was alot of people on the hero's blowing their speakers out using that louder volume hack.

Question is can we get a dev to look into this and find a way to tweak incall & ringer volume?

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

Sadly my Evo is experiencing the crappy earpiece sound as well. Has anyone figured out if this is software related?

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

My evo is experiencing the same thing as well took it to a Sprint store and they said they fixed it by doing a hard reset. I do not understand how the too go hand in hand but it was late and I was pissed will go back in a few days and see what they say this time.

Also if you turn on the hearing aid option the muffling and cracking is even more noticeable.

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

I have the same problem. It happens intermittently. I took the phone back to Sprint and the technician said that it was repaired; however, I'm still having the same problem. The sound resembles a blown speaker. I will be returning to the Sprint store to get the problem rectified
