Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

Mine is the same way. Like the issue we had with the Mogul or TP1, it sounds like the speaker is busted, all tinny and buzzy. But it was the same on the Hero I have too, so maybe HTC has a bad speaker supplier with sub-par quality control.

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

the incall volume on mine is fine but the speaker phone, and ringtones are crazy low!! it sounds awful... i had a little hack called audio para on my tp2 and it made a world of difference 500% better than stock (in my opinion)... searched for a similar solution in the android marketplace and found one called "louder volume hack" it costs $2.00 (uk money) and i was willing to try it but it does not work on android 2.1+ on top of that you have to be rooted to do it... I would love to root but i cant find clear (I mean super duper hand holding clear instructions) plus it still wont work because we are running 2.1 android. I'm still looking for a solution. If i find one i will post it but if anyone else finds a solution that will increase volume please let me know!

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

The external speaker is great loud and clear. But the earpiece speaker is like the OP says it sounds like a busted speaker. I hope it just needs to break in. Cause I hate going to the store to replace anything and I'm almost positive this phone is probably sold out.

Re: Is your sound is bad as well?!

I did get a crackle hiss pop at full volume watching Sprint TV.

-CC

EDIT: found out that I had to remove and reinstall my battery cover, when I pushed down it would get static. This may be the cause of your sound problems, if you are using a cover and or skin..

Wirelessly posted (Sprint HTC Evo 4G : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; Sprint APA9292KT Build/ERE27) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

No issues here except when watching the World Cup on Sprint TV... it sounds like a bunch of angry hornets during the game... I kid BTW....
