Re: Official::::: Battery Life Review

i've been busy today, so i haven't had a chance to use it heavily... so here is what i'm experiencing with light to what i call "regular" use fluctuations. I did navigate all parts of the thing and try everything out btw. I pushed the evo to 12 hours of life. not bad considering what i was hearing from some reviews who said they were getting 4 hours with regular use!

eh, I'm not sure I buy 100% of his story. He really got my hopes up before I bought it.

I hit my EVO hard this morning, got 5 hours (playing with it constantly). I recharged, applied his tips and am currently on hour 9 (not bad). Obviously there are some tweaks that really help, but 61 hours is just not feasible under any normal use circumstance. I also really don't like it when a test starts with an overnight standby.

That being said, it is pretty obvious that the sprint apps drain juice and some of his advice really helps! just not for 2+ days. no way.

Re: Official::::: Battery Life Review

We have two Evos and the battery life has been as expected. We tend to use the phone a lot since its so new, but once we fall back into a normal pattern it will be better. I do turn off things when not in use and use the bogeyman program ATK to eliminate running programs that randomly pop up that I'm not using. My phone can easily last the day with regular usage, but I do charge it while at work since I'm at work and have the means to do so. A good hibernation or suspend program would be nice for overnight while the device isn't going to be in use for hours at a time.

Monoprice has the USB to Micro USB cables for $1.40...Insane.
I had to get a couple to replace my trusty ol' Mini USB cables that everything else uses (Why change it HTC???)

And BTW that Tech Crunch review or commentary is awful, with no examples or facts to back it up....lol.

Re: Official::::: Battery Life Review

I want this phone so badly, but the battery life issue scares me. I don't want to have to charge it more than overnight, and I don't want to swap batteries. So here is my question. If I am currently ending my day with my TP2 at 50% charged, what can I expect to see on an EVO if my usage stays the same?

I get that my usage will be radically different at first. I couldn't get through a whole day with my TP2 when I first got it either. But once I get back into my routine, will I be OK?
