comp is still outdated. hdmi has been the standard for over 4 years now... so if your tv doesnt have hdmi it is outdated. hdmi or high def multimedia interface replaced comp connections because of size of wire and cost per foot to clairty to foot. you use 3x less cable and sometimes 5x less cable with 1 hdmi over a single comp connetion because all you have to worry about is 1 strand not multiple. with a comp connection you also dont have audio travel over the same wire which adds to the bulk as well
