Easiest way ever!
Copy this program to your phone Run TBExport.exe Press Export Locate your exported file (contacts.csv) Open your Gmail account online (LINK) Click on Contacts Click on Import in the upper hand corner of the page Import your “contacts.csv” file YOUR SET TO GO! Now just sync to your HTC Evo 4G with your Google account. There are many other ways to do this, but this is the easiest way that I have found.

Thanks guys, unfortunately my phone wouldn't sync so I had to use the export method. Much appreciated.

What happens to the contacts you already have in gmail and the ones you have on your TP2? I don't want the contacts from my gmail on my phone.

Yes, because the picture code is embedded into the Notes of the contact.
Heres an example of the picture code copied from a contact in Microsoft Office Outlook: <HTCData><!-- Please do not modify --> <Favorite>actionid:CallMobile</Favorite> </HTCData> |

All you need to do is go to your Gmail account and delete your existing contacts before you Import your newer contacts.
