Cool *TUTORIAL*: Touch Pro2 > Evo 4G : Contact Switch

Easiest way ever!

Copy this program to your phone
Run TBExport.exe
Press Export
Locate your exported file (contacts.csv)
Open your Gmail account online (LINK)
Click on Contacts
Click on Import in the upper hand corner of the page
Import your “contacts.csv” file

YOUR SET TO GO!
Now just sync to your HTC Evo 4G with your Google account.

There are many other ways to do this, but this is the easiest way that I have found.
Attached Files
File Type: zip TBExport.zip (8.9 KB, 286 views) Click for barcode!

Re: *TUTORIAL*: Touch Pro2 > Evo 4G : Contact Switch

You can also sync your TP2 to your gmail account using googles Exchange server and then when you set up your gmail on your Evo, it'll automatically sync the contacts...including contact photos and linked profiles. Also works with any other smartphone that syncs with an Exchange server. Bonus: E-mail and calendar also syncs instantly.

No programs to download. No files to export.

Thanks guys, unfortunately my phone wouldn't sync so I had to use the export method. Much appreciated.

Like I have said before, the ActiveSync to Google's Exchange server method will NOT work any longer. Just follow the instructions above. Much easier, and there is no configuring involved at all.

What happens to the contacts you already have in gmail and the ones you have on your TP2? I don't want the contacts from my gmail on my phone.

Yes, because the picture code is embedded into the Notes of the contact.

Heres an example of the picture code copied from a contact in Microsoft Office Outlook:

<HTCData><!-- Please do not modify -->
<Favorite>actionid:CallMobile</Favorite>
</HTCData>

All you need to do is go to your Gmail account and delete your existing contacts before you Import your newer contacts.

Why not? If this is true, it'll be a huge negative.
