Re: Text Messaging on EVO

I actually have an HTC EVO and have to say the text messaging on this phone is extremely impressive. I’ve owned an TP2 & HTC HD2 and both phones do not compare to the responsiveness of the EVO. My favorite thing is when you're driving you could just speak what you want to say via voice recognition and darn thing types it out for you..! This is pretty amazing to me coming from a former WinMo phone user.

Is it very accurate?
What about external noise interfering with results?

I'd say 95% of the time it recognizes what I'm saying. There's also voice recognition settings that can be modified to suit your needs when speaking.
Even with noise in the background it could still determine what you're saying.

Hopefully there is a setting to compensate for my "southern drawl"

Re: Text Messaging on EVO

The voice to text thing is a huge selling point for me, as I text constantly. Might just be the selling point over the iphone 4!

I've spoke my texts twice, perfect both times. Yesterday, I was driving, and my spoken text included the word Brentwood, and it got it right. i typed the last sentence but am speaking this 1

I should point out that I highly recommend handcent. I prefer it to the stock text messaging app.
So what makes handcent better?
