Lucking Out - Evo 4g for 50 $$$ no contract!

So I came home this weekend and found out my sister had done a 2 year upgrade and bought a touch pro 2. I also have a touch pro 2. I told her she was a fool because the evo was coming out Friday! I had planned on selling my TP2 and upgrading (have been out of contract for 4 years).

So she was within her 30 days and we took her TP2 back to the sprint store today. She finds out they had effed everything up and wouldn't have gotten her mail in because the dude at the sprint store let her upgrade one day early. It was lulzworthy but she left with her 329$ credited back to her account.

I say i'll sell you my TP2 for 150 bucks if you want a keyboard that bad. She agrees, and also says she will go pick up an evo get it activated on her account then give it to me to activate the ESN on my account and swap her for my TP2. Meaning I won't have to use my upgrade or resign my contract

Questions:

Will I be able to activate that esn online or will I get any grief from sprint - I know they will have to add the additional 10 dollar fee on to my account and subsequently remove it from my sisters. (she's premiere so she gets an annual upgrade).

Will I have to go to the store to have this done to make adjustments to my account?

Comments:

Would I be better off just signing a 2 year deal bcuz - I checked out one of the new flyers while in the sprint store and it appeared to say if you signed up for a 4g plan for 2 years you could do it for "59.99" ... wondering if its a two year lock in deal then that would potentially wave the 10 dollar fee?

I don't know all things to think about as Friday approaches... Woop!

one thing , but not 100% sure on this. when you get a phone on one line if you change it to another the insurance won't follow. yea sprint will charge you and most of em won't know any better. but when you need it , you'll get " oh sir it appears your ineligible for replacement"

You shouldn't have an issue activating it, whether in store or online I am sure it will prompt for the $10 add on. Also keep in mind that if y'all want to get the mail in rebate for the evo then it would need to be on her line for atleast 30 days if I am not mistaken.

Now this part I am having a problem trying to understand, but based on what you said it sounds like you are talking about just a data plan and nothing to do with the evo.

Why wouldn't the insurance follow? Once you have it on your account you have it. If you swap phones for any reason the insurance will still be there.

You should be a good brother and explain to her why she should get the EVO instead of the TP2.

If your sister activates the Evo on her account, then you activate the EVO Esn on your account, you just threw out your manufatures warranty...Warranty's don't transfer with the phone unless they stay on the account they were originally activated on. Now you may be able to get TEP for it..not entirely sure though...but before all this goes down I would call Sprint and talk to them and make sure everything will work out.

Re: Lucking Out - Evo 4g for 50 $$$ no contract!

Sprint insurance isn't an issue. If you have insurance on the TP2 right now, it will transfer over. If you have no insurance now, you can get insurance when you switch phones. It's either 14 or 30 days you have to get insurance after activating a phone on your account (new, used, whatever). A long time ago, I didn't get insurance before that period, so I activated an old Sprint phone I had laying around. I then switched back to the other phone and was able to add TEP insurance.
