I worried about that, but the guy had me over to his place, I have his real email, his full name, etc. This guy was on the up-and-up. While he was young, he wasn't one of those little rap guys

He did, then came back down without it and took the $20 off.

sorry, i'm not going to pay $400 today for a phone i will get for $200 june 4.

I wouldn't either. Unfortunately, I'm not eligible for an upgrade credit of any amount, nor even the rebate. By the way, you won't get out of the store for $200. Maybe $350, since you will pay tax on the full $449, and the rebate has to be mailed in, unless you get it at Best Buy. Still, close to $250 will be the tally. And a new contract. For me, I get to try this thing for 3 weeks or so before deciding if I want it. Yes, I know you can opt out when buying from Sprint too, but what a hassle getting it all unwound. I'll be able to acid test this thing, and ALL features are turned on too, including the hotspot, etc. And I have time to find the best plan I can set up. Who knows, maybe someone will figure out how to swap the ESN onto a SERO account after cancelling the Sprint/Google IO line. Sure, no 4G, but that's a non-issue to me. Stability in the device is the real issue for me.

This thing boots up completely in a minute. My TP2 has a long grind to be fully functional. Sense doesn't start well at all, takes forever. And the mid-day reboots are common enough for that to be a real business issue. So the Evo may be the solution. I can sell the TP2 for almost that much, since it's unlocked and they go for a lot more on eBay. I still have the Mogul as a temp backup

Re: Posting from my $400 Evo

Thanks for posting your thoughts. Though I do find your thoughts on the screen very strange. This is a capacitive screen, they work on your body's electro-static field, so it has nothing to do with pressure (hence no stylus), like your TP's resistive screen does. The reason to want a capacitive screen is because you can have multi-touch, which you don't get with resistive.

I would have thought these were things you would have known going in since it was stated as having a capacitive screen, or just the fact that it's multi-touch. It has nothing to do with Apple or anyone following their lead, they did not create or pioneer the technology. And I highly doubt they were even the first to use it in an application.

Either way I'm jealous you're getting to play with the phone already, have fun and keep updating us!

Re: Posting from my $400 Evo

Another minor pain-in-the-neck issue is that the phone doesn't use the same USB port as almost everything else is using nowadays. Just when it seemed everything was going to be on the same plug, and I have tons of them in every configuration and everywhere, they go and change it. Also, the supplied cord is a little too short, though that can be fixed easy enough. And notice in the photo what they have done with the wall adaptor (the one on the top). Unreal, it's bound to get band and/or broke sticking out like that.

Yeah that is a bummer. I'm use to everything being mini USB which I have plugs all over and all our phones, cameras, external USB drives all have the same mini USB. Now here comes the Evo with its micro USB and have to change my game around....
