If I upgrade my phone, I upgrade theirs too. It owuld be pretty selfish of me to upgrade mine and not theirs. That is just not going to happen so it isn't even worth discussing. Like I said, I'd leave Sprint LONG before I left my family hanging like that.

Same with my kids, that why they don't have much time for a fancy phone. My kids are 14, 11 and 9 so they do not need any thing fancy. They have the Instinct S30 and Sanyo 2700s. I use the upgrade eligibility on their lines to get new phones for me or sell. I can get any phone they want for cheap on eBay or craigslist.

All TP2s. How old are your kids?

My kids are in high school, and they have been using smartphones for years. All their friends have smartphones too (mostly iPhones). So that won't work with me.

I would never use my kids upgrades on myself anyway. If they are old enough to have a line on my plan (they had prepaid before) then they are old enough to get an upgrade when me and the wife upgrade.

No offense, but to me that sounds a little Ludicrous. Just because you get a new phone, why do they All need a new one one, and why would you feel you were leaving them hanging? When you get a new car, do they All have to have a new car?

If we were on some kind of family car plan, then yeah, we would all upgrade totgether.

However, when I change my car insurance theirs gets changed at the same time.

It's not ludicrous at all. What would be ludicrous is if I said, "it's okay, I'll just upgrade my phone and they can use those old crappy phones for a few years until they eventually get a dumbphone- and I'll just use their upgrades for myself."

I wouldn't agree with using their upgrades for yourself either.

But I don't consider the Touch Pro2 an "old crappy phone." Just didn't see why you couldn't get the phone yourself, if this Samsung or another 1ghz+ phone comes out later this year, they might be glad you didn't use their upgrade for the Evo.

LOL did some say "scam".... here i am...

ive had the 27% of thing since like july of last year.. has nothing to do with the EVO... i put it in my thread so others could do it because of the EVO though lol..

and yeah, im really getting tired of people trying to judge anyone for any "scam".. we all tether, and talk openly about it.. even when someone says "i want to hook my phone to my comp.....but i dont want sprint to know".. and the solutions/links/flames(lol) start rolling right in like its nothing.. so people just need to relax, be quiet, and enjoy everything thats available to you... we know where to draw the line, were not stealing apps.. WE support developers by paying... were a few 100,000 people out of 100s of millions of subscribers... WE'RE not really making a dent in anything...

if WE/tweakers/hackers/modders/"scammers", were such a significant problem; our carriers could easily locate the source of their problem via the web and sites like these... WE'RE not hard to find.. and WE dont try to hide anything... WE are small, and insignificant in the Big Picture for a Carriers overall Buisness.. like i said, WE'RE not big enough to be hurting them....

sprint has what 30/40 million customers... if a Million of their subscribers "foul played".. that 3%-4% of their base... insignificant in our carriers eyes

So it says you have a Touch Pro 2, is that correct? Are you getting yourself an Evo?

It's pretty selfish to say, "I want one because it's such an awesome phone" and at the same time say "they can't have one, even though thery are just as excited about it as me."

Doesn't work like that in my family.

I'm not going to say I'm angelic on this deal either (since it originated over on sd.com) but to say it doesn't put a dent in this company's bottom line when it is fighting for every penny to get out of the red, is wrong.

So that's why, it's a game between consumers & providers.
They tweek us with charges, & we tweek them with counter measures.

That's why I find it ludicrous all this nonsense about the extra $10/mos.
It's quid pro quo, tit for tat.

I do have a TP2, bought it from a friend. It's the best phone I've had to date. Running Energy's GTX Rom flawlessy for a few weeks now. It does Everything I need it to and more.

I was actually considering, briefly, giving up my $43/month plan to move to the Evo, but that thought Died quickly after the $10 Announcement!

Probably wait and see how it's going after the Evo comes out. I may decide to buy one full price and activate another way
