Again, it wasnt a rep it was the cell department manager... the person that makes the decision on whether or not the store price matches phones to begin with. Had it just been a rep I wouldnt have even put any stock in it.

Don't worry. The deposit isn't what you think it is. It doesn't go toward the purchase price of the phone. All you do is buy a $50 gift card and fill out a slip of paper. If it doesn't work out, you can spend your gift card on whatever you want in the store. We all have stuff we want to buy at BB. haha

Although true, I'm sure they'd want it to go towards their new phone

That is a really, really good price. I don't want to admit what I paid for the TP1 out of contract.

I hope so, they had my (super expensive) TP1 a day early as well. I am #26 on the pre-order list at my local BB store. 3 weeks out, they better damn well get enough stock (at least to match the pre-orders).

Re: FYI: BB Price match confirmation

So my phone plan isn't up until January. I am not eligible for the full upgrade but when I called Sprint they said to cancel my current plan is $10 for each month of service I still have left on it.

I was planning on getting a new Evo on a seperate plan, have the phone numbers switched and then cancel the old plan, is there any reason I shouldn't do this? I can't imagine I am the only person who has considered this and I am wondering if there is a reason why everyone else is talking about just buying one outright instead of doing that.

Add up the costs of running your proposal through the time when you'd shut down the other line, then compare to the extra $250 you'd spend on buying it outright.

For comparison - check out the sprint site, you'll see that:
TP2 $449.99
PRE $549.99
Intrepid $449
Bold $449

Verizon:
Droid $559.99
Incredible $529.99

I'd just buy it outright if I were you. The outright EVO price is really great for a flagship (brand new release) phone with no contract. Aside from the good price, this would allow you to keep your January rebate and potentially use it for a newer phone at that time - or whenever you feel like it after January.
