I live in Louisiana and we probably will be the last state to even get 4g...crap I don't even have 3g where I live but I still would love to get the phone even though I have to pay the extra 10 bucks...

except all they really could do is restrict the shipments because with that reasoning, what's to stop me from traveling to vegas (bout 7 hrs from where i live) buying one and just taking it home

Why don't you attempt to embarrass Sprint by posting your question directly into one of their own hosted forums.

http://community.sprint.com

We can argue with you to we're all blue in the face, it doesn't change the fact that we really don't know for sure what the fee is. I can live with it, if I get the other perks I want for free, you however seem not able to. Why not take up this just fight with them directly? I fully understand your points and they are quite valid so why not start a thread over there and let us know the outcome? If someone just quotes jibberish then call them out in that thread itself.

I mean if it bothers you this much, what do you have to lose??

you'd laugh at their responses when you do actually speak to someone that actually works there.

but who needs to hear it from an employee when we have so many people that can decipher what it means in these forums. :-)

that's why I also said what if they restrict you from activating the phone in your region that does not have 4g?

I just call it like I see it. Sprint isn't perfect, but that doesn't make me spineless for still having them. And only a narrow visioned fanboy would ever assume otherwise.

^^^....But I will still buy the EVO for $439 despite all the stuff I don't use or need or deem worthy of my standards. blah blah blah blah.

The $10 shouldn't even matter cause half the stuff isn't up to snuff right?
I call it the way I see it - if the platform is soo bad, what's the phone for then?
You make abused spouse syndrome look tame by comparison.

they'd probably delete the thread...as they have the facebook posts that were negative

There are already many, many posts about this fee on their forums. I have been over there plenty. Everything we are discussing over here is being discussed over there too- and plenty more. Sprint's facebook page is also flooded with people complaining about this fee.

Like I said a few times already (not sure if it was in this thread or others) but I read over on Sprint's message boards that they have a meeting scheduled for sometime this week to discuss this fee because of all the outrage. One of the options they are supposedly considering is giving the hotspot feature for free.

I agree, while I hate everything that Applesoft did to WP7, I will at least look at the phone when it comes out to see if my arguments hold merit or not. All the carriers suck, in my opinion, you need to find the carrier that least sucks for you.

its a rate hike, may as well just start calling it what it is. since we can probably assume the $10 fee is going to be on all smartphones going forward its a rate hike. verizon, att, and tmobile have all charged more for smartphone data for no reason for quite some time now. sprint probably figured, if they can do it why can't we and get an extra $10/month, hell we're still cheaper than most of them.
so its going to be a rate hike and theyre introducing now with the Evo because they figure they can get away with it, and then in the next few months when new smartphones come out, they'll have an extra $10 charge for "premium" smartphone data

Gotta love when speculation is presented as factual information.
