I don't have an Evo, I have a Touch Pro 2. So I say again:

Is Sprint going to lower my bill if I swap out my Touch Pro 2 for an old Mogul? Your same logic dictates that I would use a LOT less data on the mogul, correct?

Of course they wouldn't lower my bill. So don't give me that crap about this $10 fee being because I will use more data (when I already supposedly have unlimited data anyway).

It's a $439 phone.
They have used poor choices of words & analogies.
Like we haven't done that in our careers & profession.
Otherwise, still don't understand why ppl keep being so fixated on the $10/mos & then pronouncing that they are still going to get the phone despite the upcharge.

Spiting your hand to bite your nose I guess.
Weak backbone is another analogy.

No because Sprint doesn't sell the Mogul anymore so why create rules surrounding it. Consider this a line in the sand, that from this point on, these are the rules. You don't have to accept them if you want to stick with your TP2, but if you want the latest and greatest you do.

Maybe Sprint is looking at this as an Android tax, you want open source, to be able to circumvent carrier control you have to pay. I wonder if any WP7 devices will be subject to this fee? Since Applesoft has killed all the customization from their phones and Sprint can have some pull on content release, I'd be curious to see whether the fee follows all devices or not.

I don't work for Sprint, I really don't know what the fee is specifically for. I do know that for the freedom I will get with this device, i.e. custom roms, native code, tethering, wifi hotspot for free (due to hacks) is it really such a bad thing?

I just see to many PROS about the device that warrants the $10 and the only CON is the $10. Did you ever think that Sprint knows it's going to be raped with people using this device to circumvent other fees it can charge with other phones. Now granted I won't be an early adapter. I will wait till the very least to see if I can tether undetected for free or just a one time fee app. I might wait to see if it can be rooted too before jumping ship. But a month or so from the 4th I expect to have one of these puppies in my hand, and paying an extra crappy $10 a month...

Did the raise it when you switched to the TP2....nope but if you get the evo and then get rid of it they will take it off.

I don't know about you, but I easily use 4x the amount of data on the TP2 than I did on the Mogul.

Being lazy here not reading the entire thread...BUT, do you think the $99 EVERYTHING Plan will have this included, or the extra $10 (and 30 for hotspot)be added to it?

If it is added on top of it, as I am on the $99 plan now, I suppose I will switch to the $69 + $10 + $29, and get the full meal deal, at the same cost (because I never use all my "land-line" minutes now)

Again, I apologize if this has already been answered...if so, mind repeating it:D

Sprint may not sell the Mogul anymore, but plenty of people do sell them, and I still have one. So it doesn't matter than Sprint doesn't sell the Mogul, because there are still plenty of them out there that Sprint did sell.

I agree that Sprint is drawing a line in the sand. I am just saying it is absolutely not based on how much data they think you will use (when you are already paying for an unlimited data plan anyway).

I heard the fees are independent of the plan so expect to pay them. Except don't get the hotspot, wait for the root and hack...

And if you go back to using the Mogul, your bill won't go down 1 dime, right?
