Question Advantage club and the EVO

So I have a pretty weird question. I know everyone has been asking "what about SERO?" and mine is similar only a different plan... I'm on the advantage club line. Heres what I get:

500 minutes
unlimited txt and Data
unlimited cell to cell
free nights and weekends starting at 7.
Upgrades once a year

now heres what I pay:
$20 for the line
$7 insurance

Now that you know what I have let me fill you in on some more details. I can activate Android phones (using a Hero now). Sprint wont be selling the EVO to us until mid July however. They will activate it but won't sell it subsidized until July. But Bestbuy will let me pre-order the EVO (thats what their telling me on the phone) as I am eligible for and upgrade and their system picks that up. So my question is should I pre order and try to activate? Would hate to get stuck with a phone I can't use for a month. Or would something go wrong with the pre order??

If it doesn't work you can return it for a full refund. You may have to speak to sprint to get your upgrade back.

Yea but to pre order don't you need to sign up for a two-year contract? My plan is contract free. How is that going to work?

Well based off sprint's site:

Only the employee can:

Activate a line of service
Upgrade or replace a device
Transfer balance
Transfer liability
Change security information
Change billing name

so my guess is it won't let them once they actually proceed with it...

Re: Advantage club and the EVO

It's not gonna work... I called the advantage people because im on one also. They told me that if you want to buy the phone outright youll be able to do so as of June 22nd and not before. But if you want to upgrade itll be like sometime in July. Really the only option we'll have to get it up front is if we buy it from someone else and activate it. I've been trying to find a way around it all week with no success as of yet.

Re: Advantage club and the EVO

We could always by it full price from best buy or radio shack and activate it. But from what I have been reading on the net, bb and rs will be charging more than $449 for the device.

Re: Advantage club and the EVO

Yea but thats the thing... when you go to buy it outright they will still check your account and see that its advantage. I dont know if you can get around it with radioshack or bb but even if they do hell the phone will probably be 200+ more than the sprint store. And I know for certain the sprint store wont sell it to us. It sucks but I guess it is what it is.

I want it so bad ive been considering just starting another account lol

Re: Advantage club and the EVO

I bet you could talk a rep into activating it. The rep I talked to said they would activate any phone on my account (including the EVO) however they will not sell/upgrade me to the EVO until mid-July.

Re: Advantage club and the EVO

Yea but then the question is are you willing to pay that much more for it than retail... you already know if you go to bb its gonna be like $600 outright if not more
