Pre-Ordered the Phone...Now for Spare Batteries!!!
I just got home from Best Buy after pre-ordering the EVO for myself and my son. Now I need to start thinking about spare batteries. This monster is going to be hungry for juice and knowing all of us, every waking hour of the first few days will be spent playing with the beast.
I've checked the usual places and googled batteries for the EVO and so far all I've found is OEM Red batteries which are going for $26.95 with $4.95 shipping. This is way too steep I think when you can find so many other replacement batteries for current phones at around $5-7. Are batteries for the HTC HD2 compatible with the EVO or does it have it's own proprietary battery? If it does have a generic equivalent, what is the model number and how can I find one? I'm sure we would all love to have un-interrupted playtime with our phones and have the reassurance knowing that we have back-up batteries whenever we need them. No doubt most vendors will try to capitalize on the overwhelming popularity of this phone by offering accessories and batteries at an early premium. Nobody likes to be taken advantage of and in these economic times it is difficult to reconcile spending that much on replacement batteries. I'm hoping there is someone on here who can help with more information on this topic and steer us all in the right direction. Viva EVO!!! |

Re: HTC Evo 4G Sprint - PreOrder $199 (new line/elgible upgrade) NO MAIL IN REBATE -
I work for an airline and just went to our EVP site. I did an online chat with a rep and she could do the preorder BUT it's with a $100 MAIL IN rebate. I told her thanks a lot, but I'll go through Best Buy and do the automatic rebate. If I had accepted, she would e-mail me the info, I'd have to reply with a confirm acceptance e-mail and they would mail the phone out to me when they got it. I hate mail-in rebates. it's just never the same as getting the discount right off the bat. I've got 3 small rebate checks sitting on my desk right now, waiting for me to deposit them... no thanks! LOL!

Re: All Evo 4G Pre-Order Discussions Go Here
well i called my best buy, and its official that no best buy in WA state sells sprint, i knew this already but thought they might have changed recently. so my only options seem to be radio shack, but if im going to just do partial charge to my account i doubt i can get from them, so ill have to try through EVP. again, i dont care for rebate, as i dont have upgrade and will just be paying full retail price.
for fun just called my radio shack and they are taking preorders as of tomorrow |

Re: All Evo 4G Pre-Order Discussions Go Here
Well i am in WA, and the let me preorder the Evo. They told me they are just now in the process to start selling sprint phones.
Nevermind Best Buy just call me back and told me that they were going to get any EVO. So i guess i have to go get my money back and go to radio shack. Last edited by ronjr8099; 05-13-2010 at 02:20 PM. |
