honestly is there any pros or cons to using bestbuy or radioshack vs. just calling sprint and ordering it from them like I've always done? if I use bestbuy its the same price? get it the same date? I have the $7 insurance but if I buy it @ bestbuy does that change anything?

Just make you get the rebate instantly so you dont have t wait on the $100
Am I all messed up or do I remember all the TP2's or the TP1's having a lot of problems though???

im not just trolling this or anything, ive been tracking this thread for the past day after a google search about the phones press release, with that said, i dont work for any company, sprint, htc, best buy whatever

i saw sharkie's post and called to verify and then went to bestbuy to put my $50 down

i spoke with the lady there about everything... i'm not sure if this is nationwide policy, but at my best buy (in christiana, delaware) she is selling the phone for $199.99.... they do not qualify for the $100 mail in rebate since they are not a sprint store, but she is price matching it (otherwise no one would buy it there)..

so pros and cons? im getting my phone the same day as everyone else (june 4th) and for a cheaper initial cost, and no wait time to receive my "rebate"

she said the insurance cost covers both sprint insurance as well as their geek squad

Interesting, I think I am going to stop by best buy tomorrow. I called Sprint today and the guy told me that he didn't see anything about being able to pre-order on the site. I really want the phone when it hits on the 4th and not days after.

I pre-ordered my Evo today at an area Best Buy. I was quite shocked when they informed me that I was the FIRST customer to order the phone, considering it was after 3pm. I guess it goes to show how word doesn't travel too fast unless you're really interested in something.

Anyway, the mobile phone rep at BB informed me, that since I was the first customer to order the phone, I'd be guaranteed to get on on June 4th. Despite what I've heard from others who've ordered the phone, I was not allowed to fully purchase the phone. I had to pay $50 and then BB gave me a $50 gift card to put towards the phone when I picked it up. I also didn't have to select any type of plan or service, yet.

Does anyone know if Sprint's 30-day trial applies to this phone? It would be great to be able to try the phone out and return it within 30-days if i'm not totally satisfied.

I think I'll exercise self-control and WAIT, too. If I can't even use WiFi at all without paying $30 a month, it's a deal-breaker, period. So I'll wait and see if the hacks work. I'm also aware that after a year or whatever, this phone will be "crap", just like everyone is now whining about the TP2 (yet it was so great when it came out). This pattern repeats over and over.

well im going off of a 2 year activation, sorry for any confusion there.... yeah its still 550 or whatever to buy outright
