probably not, dropping the charge is considered a plan change and they've havent' required a new contract with a plan change in years

I knew Sprint had something up its devious sleeves!!! There were toooo quiet about pricing plans.

Alot of websites , and I do mean ALOT , had comments from various people saying "sprint better get this right", "Sprint dont mess this up", "Spint heres your chance" and low and behold Sprint does the inevitable.

There is know way to spin it . ITS FLAT OUT DUMB!! $199/2yr contract plain and simple that is all they had to do. SMH!

Dan Hesse can not be that dumb.....so I know he has a contingency plan. A. If customers buy the phone in droves he will keep the $10 charge. B. If no one really buys the phone he will drop the charge.

Yes. And XDA/PPCGeeks will find a workaround for the wifi-tethering, aka rooting. Just give it a little bit of time after the phone is released, and we will have our hotspot app.

Re: New plan changes for EVO 4G???

Android has already said that usb tehering will be available when 2.2 comes out.

Now if Sprint decides to block it well thats something else all together.....

Finally, some common sense. I don't know why everyone is complaining about not having the hot spot feature out of the box without having to pay extra. This is probably going to be the first thing the master minds behind these boards will be working on.

I have never been so anxious about the release of a phone nor followed one as much as I have this one. I have a Touch Pro 2 on Cricket and pay $40 a month. I pay $45 a month for broadband at my home (no cable, no home phone). I’m sure a lot of people like me are going to be dropping their ISP and sacrifice some speed for 4G access everywhere in the city.. I know I am.

Only thing I need and want like everyone else here is mobile hot spot, but I’ll patiently wait for a free workaround

just because google puts it in there doesn't mean the carriers (all of them not just sprint) won't block them.
there's actually precedence about it, back when the android first launched and the G1 "Dream" was the only device on the market, google allowed a free tethering app onto the market and tmobile had them pull it, as far as i know its still available in the international markets
