actually picmail wasn't built in but the smms app thats been around for years did work on the 6700 which gave you direct access to picmail and would let you send and receive pics on your actual device.

Not true. When the PPC 6700 first launched, there was no pic mail app, and no work around. Pic mail just flat out wouldn't work on it (the Sprint version, the Verizon version had it).

Someone came up with a solution after a while, but Sprint eventually blocked it. Someone then came up with a different pic mail app after a while, but the PPC 6700 was pretty much dead at that point anyway.

correct, 6700 never got official picmail app from sprint, but they still had access to their picmail account which gave them added benefits, including receiving a direct text when a pic mail was received.
