That is assuming hardware-based graphics acceleration is enabled. HTC and Qualcomm have not done that for a very long time. HD2 does not have it either. There are lots of complaints about about HD2 graphics drivers out there. So, we will see. As someone told me on this forum, Nexus One also does not have graphics acceleration enabled??

That was me lol...

Sprint official EVO site says HDMI output at 720p...it does not state the FPS though...I do not know whether they will put it in the EVO or not but if they don't it would be VERY VERY sad as this is suppose to be a multimedia device..

I will cry man tears if this does not deliver at least a 60fps interface.

Re: Official Sprint HTC EVO 4G

Here is my thought...

MS requires hardware acceleration for their Win 7 series. I think their new phone are going to have to be great. I know there are many ports for Android to MS devices. Why not just ask Google to develop official version compatible with other devices. Heck, they give it away WITH phones!!! If I could DL Android on my (iphone, nokia, MS...) and double boot, that would be great. Google does not care which phone we use. They just want more people to use their OS. I would even pay reasonable $$$ to buy version I can run from my SD card.

What do you think???

The standard that is considered acceptable is 30fps...I do not think it will pull 60fps for 720p...maybe but I kinda doubt

What do you need 60fps for anyways?

That was gonna be my question, 30fps would be just fine.

What framerate does the Iphone run at? Its visual interface is very smooth in both animation as well as clarity. 60fps looks a million times better presentation wise(in most cases) and is much better for response times as well. Not saying you need lightening quick, gaming like response times on a phone interface for functionality, but it wouldn't hurt to have the added "pop" that a higher framerate provides. I mainly want it for smoothness and visual clarity, to be honest, as interfaces tend to look much better with a higher fps.

30fps is what standard TV FPS is...iPhone doesn't do 60fps either. For interface you will not notice a difference between 30fps of 60fps mostly on such a small screen..the only time it may be noticeable is if you use the HDMI out on a bigger screen.

But as I said thats 30 FPS for 720p..but the phone resolution is half that..so if it does not have to resize and is in native resolution 60fps is possible I guess.

Just to be clear, I'm asking out of pure curiosity and ignorance, as you have more knowledge on this than I do.

I'm not really sure I understand why noticing the difference in framerate would be more difficult depending on screen size. A difference in resolution(especially when jumping to a high resolution) I can see, as it really depends on display space more so, and the Video-Out feature would benefit from this greatly. On something such as a Nintendo DS it's farely easy to see the difference in framerate between 60fps and 30fps even though its screens are pretty small. Granted, I still haven't had much experience with the Iphone and have only seen it in passing mostly, but it really seemed to look much smoother than say, the Droid(again, just talking visual fluidity). How does screen size play into it?

Re: Official Sprint HTC EVO 4G

I have a question.Don't know if this has beendiscussed before.

I am thinking about upgrading my phone (TP) when my contract is over in Nov.The only thing is that I have a need for winmo, Is it possible that there Will be a custom 6.5 winmo rom rel for Sprint Evo? Shouldn't be that hard since hardware Very Similar to HD2? Nothing against Android os but I (and probably many others) have softwares that only available on winmo.

I would hate to have only the option of upgrading to TP2 just because I need WinMo
