Re: Rocketfish Silicone/Gel Case *Thumbs Up*

They should have extended the buttons on the inside so it makes proper contact! It's hard to use the power button since it is almost flush with the case.

how does this compare to the silicone case from the sprint store?
Someone commented in another thread that adding a couple of strips of electrical tape, on the inside of the cover just over the button areas, adds the extra meat needed to make good contact with the buttons.

The comment was for the Seidio Active Limited case but I would imagine it should have the same effect on this case since they are both silicone covers.

Give it a try and see how it works. Experiment and see as you may need to add an extra strip or two of tape to make it operate to your liking...

The best part is, no cutting required!!!

+1 I got it and hate it. I have to lift the edge of the cover up in order to press down on the power button. This is going back to BB.

I couldn't even push hard enough even after manipulating the case to get the phone to turn on. total junk. took it back before leaving the store and got my money back.

ok so since i have not made it to the best buy as of yet ive decided to try adding a section of electric battery trimmer cut to fit into the hollow volume and power buttons and tape it into place w/regular scotch tape it seems to be working and should hold untill i make it to the store

Re: Rocketfish Silicone/Gel Case *Thumbs Up*

I bought one of these at the same time as my EVO, and returned 2 day later. It was a bit "loose" , attracted a lot of lint, and did not work well with my holster (BB8830 holster with the flap cut off) I went and bought a bodyglove case from the Sprint Store and have not looked back. My only issue with the BG is that I have had to take off the case 1 time and it bent the very thin piece of plastic by the volume buttons. It now curves out slightly from the frame, leaving a "squishy" feel at the top.
I need to get it back for a swap out and will be more careful with opening the case in the future.

ha i was comming back to report that ive returned the rockfish and was now trying out the body glove.... so far im liking the ridges on back but dont know how i feel about the opening around the volume and power buttons

would love to find a cover like the rockfish that covers majority of phone but actually makes contact w/the proper buttons

Re: Rocketfish Silicone/Gel Case *Thumbs Up*

Funny, because I really like it! I got the top/bottom two piece seidio the day of release and I was very happy with it. I saw the pix of this one and was like, hmmm... I liked the look of it, but was concerned about the button pushing. I took a peek at it at BB, but was hoping to find it cheaper elsewhere online. No luck, so I went back to BB and got it. I figured I could always return it if I hated it.

I like it a lot! I find the look and feel to be just what I want. I had intended on cutting out the slots for the power and volume buttons, but I have no problem using my nail to press them.

Anyone else actually like it?
