I sort of prefer ghost armor like I use on my touch pro. I hate slippery screens. http://www.ghost-armor.com/htc/evo4g.../prod_408.html

Its not at all tacky and its completely transparent. They also have a lifetime guarantee. The same armor has been on 3 different TP's now without any issues. Still works great.

I've used them on 4 different phones and always been happy with them. the only difference with zagg is they are twice the price or more for all I can tell. has anyone used both and can tell the difference?

Also if anyone that has seen the phone or from any of the pictures online tell if the front facing camera is flush with the rest of the screen? If it was I dont think I would want a screen protector to have a cut out for it. one screen cover that covers all 7 buttons and front camera. the only thing it would need a cut out for is the speaker at the top?

Probably because they don't even have a skin for the EVO yet. Someone posted on HoFo that Best Skins Ever was not going to produce the skin until they had enough interest in it. The thread was quickly closed.

im just trying to figure out what to get myself, my palm pre had the maximum coverage invisible shield but i didnt like that the phone looked laminated and the screen was kinda rubbery, thats when my touch pro 2 just has a clear plastic smooth screen protector i got from the mall, same as stock but thicker and more adhesive. i def want full coverage for the evo, i have a 50% discount for the zagg maximum coverage shield i tried it and it worked (btw you can easily get 30% off if you just subscribe to their weekly ipad contest they email you 30% off right away) but i was looking into ghost armor its pretty cheap now like 15 bucks but what i really want is that smooth non rubbery feel, does anyone know how ghost armor feels and will it cover the sides like the invisible shield does, thanks guys!

right, then why would you need the skin to have a cut out for it? all that would do for me is make it next to impossible to line up perfectly when putting on.

The ghost armor has a rubbery feel but I grew to like it and its definitely durable. I've heard they'll replace the protector if its damaged no questions asked.

does ghost armor feel any less rubbery than the zagg shields...i can get a zagg full shield for 12.50 but hate that rubbery feel....any suggestions for how to do full body coverage and at least have the screen be smooth and totally clear like the stock one that comes with the tp2

I'm pretty sure you'll have to change brands. The clarivue one seems better and not so rubbery. I actually liked the durability of zagg on my TP: it took a key, it didnt break but the key left a mark that looked like a 'dent', I removed it and the screen had no marks on it whatsoever. But yes, I had a problem with the rubber-like feel.

Re: EVO Screen Protectors Thread

I can't comment on the zagg, never tried it. The ghost armor is clear as can be once it dries. I compared it to the stock protector on my mom's TP and hers feels slippery to me. The ghost armor isn't at all tacky, my finger slides right across it, its just not slick. Each to his own I guess. I only got the screen protector, not the whole body kit. Didn't really see the point in the body kit.

Yes, but why would you want a layer of film over a camera lens? You realize nothing will look as good through the camera?

I myself am going to go with Clairvue. From everything I've been reading it's exactly what most people are looking for in both toughness, smoothness, and clearness.

I may consider someone else's full body kit also for the rest of it, but refuse to have any sort of sticky feeling on my display.

yea sounds good but the clarivue is only for the screen right not the whole phone

so by tacky do you mean its got that rubbery kinda sticky feel? the stock screen protector that comes with it completely smooth just a layer of plastic, i want that around the whole phone preferably without that shiny look zagg kinda has

Re: EVO Screen Protectors Thread

No, its not tacky at all, my finger slides across it easily. Its just not slippery like the cheap plastic one that comes with the phone. You'll notice it more with the stylus than your finger. When I used my mom's phone with her stylus I found the stylus kept sliding away from what i was trying to hit cause it was so slick. With my phone that wasn't an issue. Its just a personal preference thing. I'm sure some people won't like it and some will love it. There's reviews on their site I think.

WARNING: Not for the faint of heart. HERE is a video of a guy who takes a key, scissors and a razor to his HD2 screen and didn't show any scratches.

I could hardly watch doing stuff like that on purpose. The thread I found it in over at the XDA dev forums (LINK) had people responding saying theirs did scratch, so I would rather be safe than sorry on this phone.

I have no doubt that the screen on this phone is more scratch resistant than my Touch Pro 2 plastic screen, but I am not going to risk it. It would bug me every time I looked at it if there was a scratch on the screen.

Wirelessly posted (Sprint TP2 6.5 stock: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

i read someone mention the glass screen may not need a protector .. im gonna to maybe prevent it from breaking in event it falls to the ground which im hopin not to ... how are the full kits as far as looks & putting them on .. fitments on previous phones ? also ppl mention the rainbow banding issue alot of our tp1s & tp2s experienced was due to screen protectors. are these phones facing same possibilities if indeed that is a cause ?

Re: EVO Screen Protectors Thread

Glass screens are very resistant to scratches. I know several people with really beat up iphones with screens that are unscratched. However, it doesn't mean it can't happen as I've seen some with scratches all over. I use a protector on my ipod touch and will use one on my evo. They are cheap and they are barely noticeable. As for body protection most likely. Bestskinsever are cheap enough to replace once or twice a year, which is how long they seem to last from my past experience.

I think I'm going to skip on the screen protector as I think the glass will be fine and just drop it in this case:

Damn. I didn't notice that. I guess I'll just have to be really careful with it for a few weeks or maybe I'll get a silicone one until that one is available.

Re: EVO Screen Protectors Thread

While these new phones do have very scratch resistant glass on them they are not scratch proof. Any sand, rock, or glass bead media can and will scratch the screens. Skin protectors are the next best thing to a naked phone since you preserve the look and feel of the phone without adding the bulk of a large case.

Ps I see alot of class 10 stuff out now the higher the class the better, if you were not aware.

those are minimum speeds and someone tested a variety and found out that they are restricted more by the phones hardware than the speed of the card.

i've heard of that. supposed to be good stuff. I hope so, maybe the htc screen problems will be behind them using that.

Re: EVO Screen Protectors Thread

apparently the incredible is gorilla glass, so hopefully the evo is too:
Dear Keegan, I can understand the interest in the knowledge of the HTC Incredible Screen. The screen display is actually an Opaque Aluminum-Silicone Base. It is called Gorilla Glass, which is impervious to the very real threats of key scratching and localized pressure. Gorilla Glass is an unscratchable, unshatterable material used as a protective window for your mobile phone. Is gorilla glass really unscratchable? Even to sand and whatnot? I think the Droid has gorilla glass as well.

wow .. i think this thread was suppose to make it easier on deciding on a screen protector but dam there are too many choices ... i want one that is not like running finger on the inside of an orange peel .. can someone suggest one ... i think the zagg and others that offer the full body are more of the sticky feeling type as mentioned above...
i wonder how these would be and nice to have a full size mirror

Boxwave & Brando will offer you the smoothest u seek. I like them both but they always seems to peel at the corner. This time around I'm going with Steinheil. I've heard nothing but good things about this company from Incredible users. Unfortunately none of which I mention are available yet...

If you care about seeing your phone outdoors than don't get this. I had one on my diamond for the longest time just because I got a bundle for cheap on ebay. The mirror was nice to have (although people were always asking to borrow my phone for a mirror) but it was impossible to see anything outdoors unless I was under shade and cupping the screen with my hands.

As for a regular clear screen protector, I'll probably just go with the same old ebay ones that are dirt cheap (couple bucks for a pack of 3 or so). They are smooth and they stick fairly well. They last pretty long and for the price you can regularly swap them out. I got a clarivue one once and couldn't tell the difference from the ones I got on ebay for the same device. There are "higher" end ones out there but it's hard to justify the purchase when you can get about a dozen for the same price which will probably outlast your device.
