Re: Anyone else considering returning their EVO 3D?

I have been through 2 3D phones so far and not because I am picky.
1st 3D> I got it and it seemed to work fine except for the HORRIBLE signal strength. Only 0-1 bar ANYWHERE. 3G speeds were virtually non-existent, probably due to the poor signal strength. Sent it back via online order support.
2nd 3D> Way worse than the first but in different ways. First of all, the seals on the 3D box were already cut. Then, the plastic wrap that covers the phone/screen was re-applied upside down. The phone was covered with lint and the screen had swipe marks on it. There was a bright dead pixel right in the center of the screen. Finally, there must have been something wrong with this phone electronically because the bottom left side of the screen would intermittently be unresponsive. The only way to fix it was to do a battery-pull. I sent this one back via online order support as well.

I really want one of these phones but I want one that is brand new and one that pulls signal. Is that too much to ask?

Needless to say I am back to my EVO 4G and happy again as I am back to a phone that works without issues.

That 2nd one you got that seemed to have been a prior return is unacceptable. You should have just gone into a local store, so you could inspect the device in person before taking it home...

I haven't decided what to do for sure yet but I think if the Galaxy SII comes out by the 24th I'll return the 3D and see if the battery life is any better as engadget claims it is. Samsung Galaxy S2 Sprint Release As Early as July 24?

Re: Anyone else considering returning their EVO 3D?

I had a dream that I went to the Sprint Store to exchange my faulty EVO 3D, and the rep was a really hot girl and kind of dumb when it came to phones, so she let me open every single EVO 3D they had in stock to inspect it before I took it as my replacement. But every single EVO 3D I opened had one of the many issues noted by people since its launch. Not a single one was good enough for me to take. Then I realized that this is fucking real life and the chances of getting a flawless EVO 3D, or any other HTC phone for that mater are slim to none and you should probably stick with what you have.

Cool story? You bet your ass.

Each has their strengths and weaknesses.

The HTC EVO line has a large hacker base to improve it, the screen resolution on the 3D is higher, the battery has a higher capacity. I prefer the sense overlay but that is a matter of preference.

The Samsung is lighter, the SGII although having a lower resolution screen has better contast and is viewable at more angles, Engadget says the battery life is much better on the Samsung SGII (we'll have to wait for a better review to know), I'm on my second EVO 3D and see it isn't locking on a signal well as my previous sprint htc phone (I'm not just talking about number of bars, I'm talking about locking a signal and maintaining a phone call). I'll have to wait for the SGII to know if it has that issue or not. The SGII is thinner. I don't recall which one has a better camera but since I don't use that, I don't really care.

Many complain about the android updates on the Samsung phones although some say Samsung is trying to change that practice. I'm sure people have their preferences, I'm pretty open to either manufacturer - just whichever one has the best phone for my needs at the moment.

Re: Anyone else considering returning their EVO 3D?

I love the phone, it's fast and very responsive. Sometimes a little too responsive.

I am exchange my phone because I have some broken pixels.

I brought my phone into a sprint store in Cicero, IL. They wanted me pay $35 to exchange it. Hell no, I just activated the phone for 3 days ago; I didn't pay $250 + $50 monthly fees have a brand new phone with very obvious broken pixels. It's like paying for a brand new car with dents in it. WTF. The box was seal and the phone was nicely rapped, but when I turned it on, you can see the broken pixels during the white sprint bootup screen.

Any how, Cicero told me to call sprint and ask for a free exchange. I did and told sprint what happened at Cicero. Sprint said that they should have exchanged it for me for free. Sprint called Cicero and got back to me and said that I didn't bring the phone in. What total B/S. I didn't have the person's name that helped me, but I did tell sprint what time I went in and that the store manager was there and knew about it.

You guys can take into a sprint store and exchange for free, and get it immediately. If they denied your attempts, call sprint, *2 and hit option 4.

I think HTC better smartphone than Samsung. At least on the screen customization like HTC Sense is way cool than others.

Samsung makes the best tablet, ie Samsung Tab which I plan to get this weekend.

I read in the news hat if HTC copyright Apple stuff, some of the HTC phone may not be on sale here.

Dude, I've used 4 htc phones since the 6700. I wouldn't trade this Samsung Epic for any Htc phone.
