Re: Who will unlock first: HTC or Developers?
My faith is in the developers community. They seem to always get around whatever barriers that the manufacturers put up. Plus, they found a hole...
To quote Darchstar@xda WE > HTC

They said future devices. I'm not saying they won't unlock it....just saying that the statement from the CEO was not referring to the 3d which is why I got one for the wife but my upgrade is being saved got

Re: Who will unlock first: HTC or Developers?
unfortunately you can't always believe what they tell you.....there's alot of mis-information out there, who know if HTC is unlock or not.
BUT, if they unlock the Sensation, I see no reason why they wouldn't unlock the E3D I posted this a few weeks ago....though I don't think the Sensation has been unlocked yet. HTC is prepping to unlock the Sensation's bootloader my money is on the devs....hopefully we'll have root by this time next week ....remember even if it's unlocked, that doesn't give u root....we already have a engineering hboot that's unlocked, and they have found a hole that should get us root

Re: Who will unlock first: HTC or Developers?
I definitely would like to know the answer to this. If it is true I would consider this just as important as if someone said the battery can't be charged more than 200 times. THe rumor may be a mistake but it certainly is an important one as there was an older HTC phone that didn't get unlocked and no one ever managed to get around that as far as I know.
I've posted a question in the support forum and sent an e-mail to HTC. I think if we can convince Engadget to post an article HTC would difinitely respond or possibly if enough people send e-mails or call HTC we might get a definiteve answer - http://community.htc.com/na/htc-foru...oid/f/138.aspx If you are using IE9 and want to post on HTC's website use compatability mode.
