Not to insult, but I typically run the other way when someone tells me they work at Best Buy as a reference to their electronic knowledge.

However, this information is about as accurate as possible. Only given that not all class 4 cards are created equal. I have had some that just sucked in performance... and the term tremendous is relative. Such is life though.

Re: Class 2 32gb micro sd card

read speed is generally faster then its rated class but not guaranteed. when i comes to video play back speed comes back in to play, this phone will handle some pretty high bit rate but its not going to matter if the card is bottelnecked.

Re: Class 2 32gb micro sd card

I swapped my wifes 16gig class 2 sd card from her Samsung epic with my evo 4g, when I got my e3d, they said it would not work...Being the little rule breaker that I am, I popped it in anyway and have had no issues....I had already loaded green hornet on the stock 8 gig so I cant confirm if that works but all my own personal 3d stuff works flawlessly

Re: Class 2 32gb micro sd card

Class 2 16GB from my OG Evo in my E3D works fine. Video did skip sometimes on my old Evo but so far it has done fine on my E3D surprisingly, even on 3D video. I want to eventually get a 32GB class 6,8, or 10 tho

Re: Class 2 32gb micro sd card

is there anyone here who has bought a 32gb class 4 or higher card that they highly recommend? i currently own a sandisk class 2 32gb card which works fine except for when icons are loading after turning the phone on. sometimes the icon pic doesn't load at all. I moved the apps back to my internal memory and the icon pics load up fast again.

here a few that i have found:
Amazon.com: Komputerbay 32GB MicroSD SDHC Microsdhc Class 6 with Micro SD Adapter and USB Reader: Electronics

Amazon.com: Kingston 16 GB Class 10 MicroSD Flash Card with SD Adapter SDC10/16GB: Electronics

Amazon.com: Kingston Digital, Inc. 32 GB Flash Memory Card SDC4/32GB-2ADP: Electronics

Newegg.com - 32gb micro sd card

Newegg.com - ADATA 32GB Class 4 Micro SDHC Flash Card with V3 USB Reader (Black/Blue) Model AUSDH32GCL4-RM3BKBL

This is a common problem has nothing to do with class of sd card. You can change the scene then go back to scene you use and icons will be loaded.

Re: Class 2 32gb micro sd card

I would caution in thinking a higher class means the fastest performance. Yes, its R/W speeds are higher, but random access times usually suffer because of this. So for writing video, higher class the better. For loading apps or anything that needs to read AND write, thats not true.

Here is a good link on the matter if you want to read up. Note the Random 4K test, almost all higher class cards had horrible write times after reading.

Re: Class 2 32gb micro sd card

thanks for the quick response guys! so, no matter what size/class card i get it won't make a difference with the loading of the icons? I know the loading of icons shouldn't be bothersome but if i can afford a card that'll fix that issue i'm all for it. according to the info from the 32gb sd cards-xda link, comparing the read and write speeds of a 32gb class 4 and 32 gb class 2, theres a noticeable difference.

Sequential R/W results sorted by write speeds
sandisk 32 gb class 4
readMB/s WriteMB/s
20.5 ---- 6.17
19.94 --- 6.02
19.29 --- 6.00

sandisk 32gb class 2
13.46 --- 5.77
13.95 --- 5.45

Random, 4k R/W (QD=1) results, sorted by best 4k write speed
sandisk 32gb class 4
readMB/s WriteMB/s
3.241 --- 1.752
2.888 --- 1.663
2.747 --- 1.471

sandisk 32bg class 2
1.130 --- 2.863

Wouldn't those read speeds affect the ram loading the icons/apps?
