Ah my bad. I know Amazon is having some legal issues from the tax thing though. Texas is suing them for quite a hefty amount because they weren't charging anyone who lived here tax, but they had a few distribution centers in the state.

Anyways... I might be looking into getting the phone at Target if I don't have any Bestbuy rewards in a couple days. My sister is a Target exec so I also get a nice employee discount!

Amazon will not charge tax. They will just move their distribution centers out of Texas.

CT tried to get Amazon to charge tax on anything bought thru websites they fulfilled for companies in CT. That failed miserably and hurt the CT companies as Amazon just cancelled all their shipping agreements with all those CT companies rather than charge tax.

Anyway, that's why I'm buying at Best Buy, I have $45 in Best Buy bucks to use, that has been burning a hole in my wallet for some time now.

Let me know if you can get the employee discount through your sister. I am interested cause I am still trying to understand the relationship between Simplexity LLC, Target Wireless, and Wirefly. My thought is you won't get the discount because when you buy from Target Wireless (and Wirefly) you are actually just buying from Simplexity. I was calling Target Wireless, Amazon Wireless, and Wirefly to get an idea of who I wanted to order my phones from. At one point I called Target then Wirefly and I either spoke to the exact same person...or a similar sounding individual reading the EXACT same script ("What is your name so that I may address you properly"). I think cellphone purchases (mostly activation and interacitons with the various phone providers) from either of those companies just go through Simplexity while accessories go through the actual stores etc.

That sounds like a kick-ass deal! I assume you have to renew a 2-yr contract etc. So if you do...make sure you get your renewel credit and push for the waived activation fee!

Re: Best place to buy the 3D??

I had a pre-order at BB; they called me Tuesday to get me to schedule an "appointment" for the 24th thru 26th. I ended up walking into a Radio Shack and getting the last one they had in stock. Traded in my brand new Evo (I had my Evo 4G replaced Wednesday for a bad USB charging port) and they were able to give me more than $99 when you factor in money for accessories. I think the gift card he gave me had about $148 on it.

I was out the door with the Evo and the Otterbox Defender (which goes for $50) for $120.

Not. Too. Shabby. -e.
