Anyone else waiting for a detailed review before buying?

While I'm hoping the updated android and the larger battery help, I'm really waiting for a detailed review on the EVO 3D for battery life before buying. I need BT on at all times and make all my phone calls via BT headset - I tend to spend about 2 hours per day on the phone as my cell phone is my work phone. The EVO 4G battery life wasn't an option even with 4G turned off.

No, it is $200. Who buy. If you don't like it, take it back.

I am waiting, mostly because I am undecided if it is worth it to ditch my $30 plan for something nearly twice as much. $20 a month doesn't seem like much but adds up to $240 a year, so there has to be some really amazing reviews for me to jump ship from my TP2 with SERO.

I am going from $30 to $50 too. I dont have home phone so I actually had been saving money until now.

Re: Anyone else waiting for a detailed review before buying?

I don't have to pay for my bill out of pocket. The $30 a month SERO plan has NO WHERE near enough to cover my usage. I ditched the SERO I had a long-time ago for custom built plans, but gave all of it up when the anymobile came out. I still get a 28% discount, so I feel okay with my setup. If the $30 SERO got me by and I was paying for it, I doubt ANY phone would get me to switch. The TP2 sucks ass though. I don't miss mine even a little. I think it is mostly WM6.5 to blame. The Mogul still has my heart. Also for all of you unsure. Go buy it on a new line of service. Then you can test drive it without risking your legacy plan. So much complication involved in everyone's lives over these phones it seems. I saw a huge argument over 2 tablets over on XDA. We aren't talking about a lot of money and people take it so personally.

Re: Anyone else waiting for a detailed review before buying?

a detailed review of real world usage and battery life would be great just to get an idea of what I'm going to expect even thou those reviews really don't sway my mind one way or another just something else to consider because individual results WILL vary. I'm having a really hard time just making it to release date so I cant say if I can purposely postpone my purchase past that time. that's just torture. but I will say that I am willing to try and wait a few days after for a sucessful root method.

Re: Anyone else waiting for a detailed review before buying?

If you are waiting for a detailed review, it might be a while before you actually get the phone. The Evo 4G stayed sold out for months after it was released.

As someone who has an Evo 4G, I can tell you that batteries are dirt cheap. I got mine on ebay. It was something like $9 which included 2 batteries and a charger. So hopefully the Evo 3D will get some similar deals on batteries and then battery life will be a non issue again, no matter how good or bad battery life is.

And holy cow, anyone running a Windows Mobile phone that tries an Evo 3D will probably not go back. The Evo 4G is probably a device you couldn't exchange for a Windows Mobile device, and the Evo 3D is even better than that.

Everyone should and probably will do what's best for them. But just keep in mind the Evo 4G was sold out for months when it first released. Even before it launched, the preorders sold out and they started taking preorders for the next batch.

I would agree with the poster that said to just get it and if you decide you don't like it you can return it. That's just me though.

Windows mobile does suck, but the unlimited interenet and text for $30 doesn't And I just don't know how much the 4G would even benefit me because granted I have it where I live, but won't be using my phone to surf the web at home, and everywhere else I'm at during the day only has 3G. Plus I am not so sure about the whole not having a physical keyboard thing But I'm sure if I could actually play around with a 3D that I'd be more willing to pay the extra $20 One question, I know if you have 4G at home, you can use the phone as a modem, but if I hook up my computer to the phone how fast is it compared to a cable modem? I was thinking if I could ditch my home internet service that would save me $40 a month, but I have a feeling it would be too slow to do things like stream netflix right? I don't play games online so that's not an issue.

Re: Anyone else waiting for a detailed review before buying?

I'm waiting on reviews. I'm happy enough with my Evo 4g that my world won't end if I don't have a 3D in my hands on release day (or week or month). Like the OP, I would like to know how the battery fares. If the life is similar or better (as one would expect) to the 4G, I'll be happy. I'm also concerned about the quality of the screen in 2D mode. Will it's 3D capability reduce the 2D picture quality?
