Plus I am not so sure about the whole not having a physical keyboard thing But I'm sure if I could actually play around with a 3D that I'd be more willing to pay the extra $20 One question, I know if you have 4G at home, you can use the phone as a modem, but if I hook up my computer to the phone how fast is it compared to a cable modem? I was thinking if I could ditch my home internet service that would save me $40 a month, but I have a feeling it would be too slow to do things like stream netflix right? I don't play games online so that's not an issue.
You can definitely stream Netflix over 4G. The Evo 4G actually has a Netflix app that streams it just fine. I don't know about it replacing your home broadband connection though. I guess if you are the only one that uses your home connection it would probably work. But if you have a family and everyone shares the connection, plus several directv receivers using the broadband connection, and a PS3, Xbox, Wii, etc, then I don't think it would work too good.

Sprint's 4G speed varies greatly depending on where you are. On the low end you can expect about a 2 meg download, and on the high end it goes up to about an 8 meg download. Both of these are give or take a bit, of course, but you can reasonably expect to be between about 2 and 8 megs on the downstream at all times when you have a 4G signal.

There is no need for warez on Android. Everything is already free.

Oh, well if he means legit apps and not "warez" (in the traditional meaning of the word) then that will definitely not be a problem. There are way more apps on Android than old Windows Mobile. And most of them are free (or ad supported).

I took it to mean he was getting pirated software, especially in the context it was used.

Re: Anyone else waiting for a detailed review before buying?

[QUOTE=BlackDynamite;2115187]If you are waiting for a detailed review, it might be a while before you actually get the phone. The Evo 4G stayed sold out for months after it was released. s someone who has an Evo 4G, I can tell you that batteries are dirt cheap. I got mine on ebay. It was something like $9 which included 2 batteries and a charger. So hopefully the Evo 3D will get some similar deals on batteries and then battery life will be a non issue again, no matter how good or bad battery life is.

Just purchased 3 batteries w/charger for EVO 3D for $16 w/ free shipping. I currently have 6 extra batteries
for my EVO 4G.

Re: Anyone else waiting for a detailed review before buying?

4G has high latency and pings which makes it not suitable for online gaming.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

i dont see the point in waiting. the evo seems to be a proven phone and the evo 3d is just an upgrade on an already great phone. ignore the 3d part as i just see that as the sprinkles on the icing of the cake.

as far as battery life concers i also dont see it as much of an issue. if im at work im either in a car or in an office and a charge will always be avail. same with at home etc. if i find in time that im away from the ability to charge often enough then ill look into those extended batteries.

ive been on my tp2 (came from tp1) and i loved it for awhile. then the evo 4g came and ive watched it progress and decided when it released to watch it for awhile. im now confident in the phone and have bought two that should carry me and my wife for a good while (i dont have money to upgrade yearly and i got lucky when my tp1 crapped out and got the tp2 for free). i also plan to invest well into it with good cases/protection for my occupation and get insurance etc.

Ruh!!! Hey man, it's me... BA!! I agree with you, man! I'd be getting this whether it had the 3D stuff, or not. Like you, I just see it as an add-on type deal. Anyway, text me tomorrow, and I'll send you an amazing site for extra batteries. Also, due to your 'line of work', you should check out the ballistic case, if you haven't already. You should be able to find the link in the accessories thread where they're talking about cases.
