There is hope!!! I can't believe I'm getting this pissed and excited over a phone. How my life has changed since I bought the Evo. It's now an obsession. I have a good feeling that HTC will do the right thing.

Wrote HTC voicing my displeasure yesterday and they responded this morning. I think they are re-thinking things over there. I hope anyway.

Update, after holding a gun to HTC's CEO they removed the bootloader! Just one my phone though.

I'm not sure what we can expect by calling/complaining to HTC alone can do about this. I think Sprint just told HTC, we won't be buying this phone if the boatloader isn't lock. HTC most likely just released a "canned" response saying that they'll look into it, just to save face with the customer. You should probably go after Sprint for this, not HTC. What does HTC gain from doing this of their own accord? I'm thinking that the removal of Carrier IQ from some ROMs made Sprint react this way, I don't agree with this of course but what can I do--except vote with my wallet...

I see how that might make sense testacon, but HTC did the same thing with the sensation which is on another carrier. Sprint has the nexus s 4g and the sg2 which are both open. I'm thinking HTC is to blame here.
