Please correct me if am wrong…..so that would mean until further notice EVO 3D can’t be rooted…..or just at this point no custom rom??

Yep. You can flash all ya want, but it won't boot without the stock ROM.
I'm hoping that a workaround will come out based on my faith in all the hackers out there.

Tell the Droid X users that... they're still limited even though it was rooted in what they can and cant actually flash. And with them I dont even think the recovery and the kernel were signed it was just the bootloader. With this they signed ALL THREE.:angry7:

Excuse my ignorance but by not being able to root, would that also mean no wifi-tethering?

Yup. There are some threads even stating that the free programs would not work.

Wouldn’t that also mean that we would not be able to uninstall any bloatware…?

It's a deal breaker for me fellas. I'm a flash a holic, no doubt. I don't care how cool your phone is at the moment. Give it a month and we'll all be jonesin for another ROM. I'm not going a whole year without the ability to upgrade and customize. Screw that. That Nexus S 4G is looking pretty good right now. That or I'm just gonna stick with my OG Evo.
