Unfortunately i think it means the EVO 3D release date is not going to be June 4th unless they have a way of changing it after it's released.

I was just wondering about that. It seems like it wouldn't make sense to hold it back for this considering most of the purchasing public has no clue what a bootloader is or that it can be locked. Hopefully this would just be unlocked retroactively... I have no problem with it being temporarily locked and then unlocked via an update just get that 3D in my hands! lol

Actually it may not effect the 3D release date at all. There is no indications either way that the 3D will be unlocked or that they will unlock it at a future time. One could easily conclude from the posting that phones coming out after the 3D is released will be unlocked but the people who bought any HTC phone that was locked such as the 3D and prior will remain locked.

I could say I will no longer ship fruitcake to family members. That in no way indicates that I will attempt to warn people about or intercept any fruitcake I've already shipped.

Yeah its easy. Put a ruu on the HTC website, or an ota update. Just like the official updates can remove root, they can allow it the same way.
Regardless, we win!

Re: [PSA]Bootloader, recovery, and kernel lockdown? Confirmed. [UPDATE]

I'm really confused/dumb founded as to why they won't announce an Official release date for a phone that was first announced in March. It really makes no sense.

HTC is showing how to run a company! This makes me not just happy, but eager to give them some money and get this Evo 3D. Way to go HTC!
