Last year the 6/4 release date was announced 5/12. Hopefully we hear something soon.

Thing about it is I'm not really crazy about the 3d aspect I'm more focused on the increased RAM and faster CPU. I wonder if it will come out along with the sensation at T-Mobile. That thing is a beast too.

Same here the 3D element initially turned me away from this phone I feel like 3D in general is real gimmicky at this point; but once I saw the Sensation it really caught my eye and made me take a second look at the Evo 3D for all its other beasty specs! Now I can't wait! 3D is just icing on the cake, it just better not impede ANY other functionality. If it effects speed or battery performance I'll be hopping to the first non-3D Rom or ported Sensation Rom available assuming such a thing will exist. I'm sure the 3D camera will not be an issue but if there are any weird 3D animations or transitions I could see that being potentially problematic. I don't want to upgrade to dual-core just to have the new power negated by 3D memory-hogging effects..... But I think it shouldn't be an issue. I think I'm even more excited than I was waiting for my Evo last summer!!!!

I didn't see anything from Google I/O about the release date... did anyone else? I was hoping it'd be announced, or mentioned.

All I saw was the S3D development kit HTC and Sprint are releasing for developers to create 3D content, and that a trial, or "pre-trial," of Spiderman 3D will come loaded on the phone.

I did see an article saying we can pre-order from Sprint now, and get a $50 gift card, just like the Best Buy pre-order.

Not to be outdone by Best Buy's covert HTC EVO 3D pre-sale, Sprint is now letting you reserve the new phone in exchange for the purchase of a $50 gift card that can then be applied to the total on launch day. All you have to do is ask.

The "deposit" will get your name and number on an unadvertised wait list (I was the first one on it at my local Sprint store), which generally guarantees that you'll get the device the day it's released. Exactly when that day is is still up for debate, but the rep I spoke to this afternoon said that those on the list will either be called the day before the phone arrives or the morning it goes on sale. So if you're hoping to find out when the big day is before anyone else, preordering from Sprint probably isn't the way to go.

I have a preorder in at Best Buy too and am thinking that I might just buy two of them on launch day. G&E needs to give away a phone at least once, right?

My guess (fingers crossed) is they are wrong!! If not that is a huge fail and I will likely just hold out until the holiday season to see what other phones are going to be released. I hear the next Nexus is coming Q4 with Ice Cream Sandwich and possible Tegra 3.... Sept is too long to wait for Evo 3D, specs are improving exponentially nowadays

let's hope they're wrong....but I'd be curious to know where they're getting this info.....it has been release from Sprint yet.

There is now way it will take that long. The website is just pushing the date out because they have no idea when it will be released. It would be better if they just put unknown down.

The Galaxy S 2 Within will be out before 9/30.

Yeah probably and I'm very impressed with the galaxy s2 that screen is so beautiful... but I love HTC sense. If I could get sense in the galaxy s 2 I'd be getting it instead.
