I hear it won't be released until late summer. I really want WP7 (although android has advantages in some areas WP7 has them in business areas) but hardware matters a lot. Frankly most WP7 phones seem to be pretty weak - I want a 4.3" screen, I'd like 4G internet, I'd like a 1700+mah battery and a faster processor wouldn't hurt. If Sprint gets this by June and Sprint gives me a decent discount on my new plan over my old Sprint plan, I probably will get the EVO 3D.

Im calling june 5. Sprint has been doing mail in rebates instantly for a few months now, the promo was supposed to end May 7th, the Nexus comes out on the 8th. The promo got extended through June 4th now. So Im saying the 5th. Sprint plan o grams always change on a Sunday, which the 5 is. Granted the OG Evo came out on a Friday....but Im still going with the 5th, 1 day after its 1 year anniversary

I went to my local best buy the other day and asked for a release date, the guy said late July, early August, most likely the first week of August.

What is the likelihood of a release date being announced at Google I/O? Anyone else think this is possible?

I don't know if we should trust the Best Buy reps...from what I've seen, they usually don't know anything and are guessing, or got some odd/weird rumor and think it's right. Of course, maybe I'm just biased against them since I tend to eat up the rumors too when I'm waiting for a phone, lol. Maybe it's a lot of wishful thinking, but based on how stable the software looked in the early videos and Sprint/HTC's track record, I put more stock into an early June release date.

Anyone else find it kind of strange that no new news has come out about the new evo for a few weeks? I'm starting to think that this may turn into the same situation as the htc merge that thing was announced about a year ago and still has not been released.

I was thinking the same....if the rumored early June release was true, you'd think we'd be hearing something official.

I'll admit I'm not familiar with how that particular release attempt went, but I'd assume the pre-orders wouldn't be available if they were going to cancel it. Heck, StudentRate has a discount code you can use when you pre-order. >.>

The fact that best buy is taking pre orders is the only thing thing keeping me going... I want some evo 3d news soon or I'm gonna explode.
