Re: Who's buying the EVO 3D????

I'm Gold so definitely planning on making the switch.

I'm just hoping that Scorpion doesn't eat up the bigger battery too fast...the fact the reps are not budging at all on expected battery life is not unexpected, but is somewhat ominous nonetheless. If it is same as Evo, it's all good. -e.

10+ years with Sprint.

I will have to persuade the Mrs. that it's best if I move ahead to a new phone so that I'll know all the tips and tricks when she gets hers in another year. -e.

In worst case you can probably underclock it for most use...that would save battery life..the consumption would only be during heavy tasks like gaming...

That processor is a 45nm so by default will be better with power management. Additionally, the Adreno 220 uses less juice than the 200 we have now

I think there are just too many variables and speaking with any sense of conclusiveness on battery life carries too much legal risk. I say this because I work with a team on documentation and what we can say cannot be remotely "promissory."

Signal strength, variance in manufacturing between battery or CPU, what widgets/apps are running (seriously, an infinite combination of apps from one user to the next)...all those things guarantee that no two people will have the same battery life, let alone usage patterns (calls/sms/email/syncing).

I wish manufacturers would start putting in beefier batteries, though. They're pretty stupid for not listening to customers and measuring avg customer usage patterns. I can never get more than 10-12 hours out of my phone with light use.

Your right you'll never get 10-12 hours on lite usage! Android is open source, where the Iphone is closed (controlled) and by Google doing all those free apps how do think the developers are getting paid!? When you install apps it tells you what it will be accessing in the background, so that the proper advertisement is sent to you!! Apps+Syncing+ bad battery+Your usage= not good! Hey but it's free v.s. Paying?

I also got reclassified to SILVER so I'll wait for the quad core processors later this year or 2012 unless Sprint has a window for EVO 4g owners to upgrade.
