yes, with Freezas kernel....my battery life is much better now

maybe it's an app you're installing....I never get any reboots

Sometimes kernals leave scripts in the system... Just flashing a new one doesn't always work.

I'm starting to think the same. I did just install a few apps with titanium backup. Smh ruined my experiment lol

I stopped using TB long ago due to similar issues....I use mybackup root

Freeza himself in his kernal thread that the dual core script won't be removed if.you flash a new kernal.

And the first time I tried 2.17 I got ghost boots every 5 mins even after.flashing back to a 2.08

I had to run a ruu for 2.08 and re root to get rid of them.
Something from a kernal I tried was interfering with my phone even after flashing back to a different kernal.

I'll have to check that out. Man if that was the issue the whole time smh (even tho I think it was rebooting before I did the TB recovery) ... I thought TB was cool on the same/similar roms and just doing apps/app data

Wiped again and going to try a barebones test and see if everything is fine this time

yes, depends on the kernel....but in this case he got a reboot after flashing a fresh ROM w/ different kernel

like I said, depends on the kernel, but it's highly unlikely a residual script will survive wiping, reflashing

Well at this point I'm back at square one. Could be the kernel could've been TB (which I doubt since I did it even with out a TB restore) could just be bad luck lol. But I'm back to work tomorrow so back to my 2.5 nandroid backup until ICS or I have more free time. Weird thing is now I think my backup even reboots now, but not sure I haven't actually caught it lol. We'll see worse case I may need to pursue the ruu/re-root option but hopefully ICS will come along before it comes to that. Thanks for all the help OMJ and crew!

That's what happened to me.
2.17 came out, and befor that I was running my own 2.08 Rom with a ziggy kernal no problems.

Then i upgraded to 2.17 and the new 2.17 radios and then tried freezas kernal and it would ghost itself every time I turned off the screen..

Needless to say it was annoying..

So I went back to my 2.08 Rom and ot still reboot itself consistently.

Something in the process of upgrading got messed up deep in the workings of the phone.

The only way I was able to get rid of it was to run a 2.08 official ruu.
Then reroot. Since the ruu gave me 1.50 hboot. But i was s off so it didn't matter.

Then after that i had no issues.
Ran the 2.17 rooted update..
Flashed freezas kernal and made another ROM and everything jas been blue skies since.

OMJ,
I installed the original 2.7 ROM, and have been experiencing random shut downs, or better yet freezing issues. My question is if I goto freezas kernel page,

[Kernel]3/14/12 StockMOD 2.17.651.5 Core Duo/ScreenOff Script/NoCIQ/DimLights - xda-developers

and install the kernel freEVO 3D-StockKernel 2.17.651.5b.zip do I need to install the screen off scripts that are there, or are they included in the kernel zip?
