Ok im a tad confused (note that im tired and also naturally an idiot to begin with) i have already s-off(ed) and rooted this badboy with hboot at 1.4 and since i already have a custom recovery (TWRP) on there is there a need to push the new update?

making progress on the mods, this is what I have done so far

-Added Battery % icons (/system/framework/framework-res.apk
-Added Custom Greeting (/system/app/settings.apk)
-Added 1x/3G mod (/system/app/systemui.apk)
-Added 4N1 reboot menu (/system/framework/android.policy.jar)
-removed USB debug icon (/system/framework/services.jar)

yes, those fixes would be in the ROM/System update....

the OTA updates the OS (Android) and the firmware updates the radio.....having s-off & rooted just allows you to flash custom zips & have full access to the system.

Ok so in theory all i need to do is update the firmware (since i can already get a custom 2.3.4 rom from you as of now)?

yep, definitely dont install the OTA.....but read my post about selectively installing the firmware....

If you flash the zips independently do you have to rename each to PG86IMG.zip, and flash from bootloader on at a time?

For example if I just flash like the example in the post: "I am currently using the Odexed update zip, the Radio & PRI updates and the RPM update."

I want to flash the Deodexed update zip (assuming I need to), the radio/PRL and the RPM.

would i change each of those zips to just PG86IMG.zip and flash one at a time?

.....and then flash the new rom thru recovery right?

I did the OTA already, not realizing what it was, i update the firmware and then root my phone as its not at this point, or am i hosed?

If you don't add the native hotspot hack is there something we can flash for those that want it?
