Re: YOUR next sprint phone?

my primary line is now the pre and i dont miss my diamond. it will be replaced altogether with the hero shortly. i loved my diamond, and have had several winmo phones, but in the end winmo was just too much of a hassle.

Amusingly, I'd only buy it if it was chinless.

I'd dig the Pre, but I don't really care for the slideout keyboard and the apps aren't there yet. I use MusicID, a podcast auto-downloader, a golf GPS app, a checkbook register, and Remote Desktop regularly, none of which really exist on WebOS yet.

Android seems to have a better selection of apps, and it's a no brainer which to go for if Sprint releases an Android handset with a form factor I prefer over the Pre.

Re: YOUR next sprint phone?

Touch Pro 2...although now that the Hero is Chinless I will consider the switch. That chin made it quickly disappear from my radar when I first saw it, the Sprint version now looks nice.

Pre is also a no thank you in my book. It looks cheap, feels cheap, slide out tiny keyboard, screen is way to small, only becasue when I saw the commercials I thought it was going to be big. Im not impressed with the phone at all, I picked it up and put it down in about 2 minutes in the store. Finally got to play with one for a substantial amount of time when a friend of mine got one, it confirmed my initial thoughts...blah.

The Instinct Q looks kinda cool, but the name "instinct" just makes me shudder...even as I type this I am shaking my head how bad that phone was.

the homebrew community is filling in a lot of those gaps. there are two good golf gps finders, a podcast thing and remote desktop. i dont know about a checkbook, but i wouldnt be surprised. i do wish there was a music id app, but id be shocked if shazam did not come for it

Re: YOUR next sprint phone?

Well.. I was looking forward to possibly getting the Hero.. but since it needs the Simply everything plan it looks like I'll stick with my diamond for a little while longer!
