USB to PC now defaults to Internet sharing-- how to change?

This is a common issue with ICS(maybe just later versions). If you connected it to a pc to use ICS and didn't exit ICS properly before unplugging this is what you get. It can easily be fixed by re-connecting it to the same pc and then enabling ICS, then shutdown ICS properly before closing it. Voila, next time you plug it in it should prompt you for what you want. I went through hell trying to figure this out and nearly reflashed but that's too much trouble. THis should work. Part of my problem was I used ICS on two PCs and I had to re-connect to both of them before I could shutdown properly and get it back to normal. Hope this helps!

Just let it connect, then hit disconnect and then X.

It should be fine now.

hey this didn't fix it for me. im running the most recent version of energy rom

i am running the same rom (ENERGY) and it fixes it for me...I usually hit connect and then disconnect before it even connects and then close out the internet sharing program on the phone and then disconnect the usb cable....this happens to me once a week on this rom and it fixes it every time...I dont even use the same PC to clear it out, it works on any PC for me.
