The fact that that could be enough to get someone banned is very off putting. I don't think I read A thread on this site where someone doesn't attempt to "bash" someone else. And what would that have been worth in the first place? "Three weeks in the corner so you can reconsider your actions?" Wow...Shameless ostracizing from a board that, more than likely, is made up of people who are being ostracized all the time.

That's an awfully long rant (angry tirade?) about an assumption.

You don't know why he was banned, and it's frankly none of your business. It's a bit premature to start railing against the board management for what you think they may have done.

I think Paydays main point is, what could he really have done to merit a 3 week banning? if it was a total breach in rules, and he like threatened someone or something riduculous, it would have been a full on ban. I know it's an assumption, that, from what I can tell, many members are making, that he was basically getting a slap on the wrist for pi$$in off the wrong people.

I wouldn't think too much of it personally, except not very long ago, he pi$$ed off the wrong person, and all of a sudden had to remove his avatar which he had for MONTHS.

It all seems suspicious, and to quote Payday, it IS very off putting when a valued member gets treated poorly. We don't know why, and can only assume, but from what VERY little info we have, it looks to be very distasteful.

EDIT: And another valid point Payday brought up - if we want Inda's stuff, we now need to go to another board, or possibly 2, to get it. Shouldn't we be trying to keep members, and bring in more? This is NOT always possible, and I realize that, I'm not an idiot. But it's driving members to other sites, we could take them away completely from this site. Was his offense really worth that? Maybe it was, I don't know, but I can't imagine what would warrant that.

I know I am leaning in some grey area here (but hey, isn't that most of what this board is?).. but I actually think it IS my business... and here's why...

This board is a community board. It's members (of which you and I are) are what makes it work/run/exist. Are some people more important than others? You bet they are, but, if someone is to be "jailed" or "excommunicated" shouldn't we all be advised? If for no other reason than to insure that we don't commit the same atrocites.

It says "banned" under his username doesn't it?

It seems pretty straightforward and fair to assume that he broke the rules. And you can avoid getting banned by following the rules.

payday, all you have to do is read the rules again. whatever happened is between groove and the staff but i can only assume that maybe a rule was broken.

I've reread the rules, and i doubt inda posted adult material, or any illegal or banned software. Per one of his final postings (and another final post in his ROM thread by someone else), he seemed to pi$$ off the wrong person. so i can only imagine it had to do with flaming. yet that seems to be tolerated when it comes from certain people. I think it's a fair question to ask what happened in OUR community, this way we know when to draw the line.

It's not really a crazy or unfair question to ask. Everyone is tired of everyone else assuming stuff, then how about the record get set straight. We're all adults here, correct? I didn't mean for this posting to become what it's becoming, but I don't think anything unreasonable has been said.

This is the part where we probably get a 3 week banning for asking questions... (mostly a joke... I hope...)

All we know is, based on a post by Mighty before it got archived, is that he (paraphrase) got in to a heated argument with another chef (/paraphrase). I didn't see where that was against the rules.

I may be making too much of it, but he was (or at least seemed) to be a genuine contributor to the site. Constantly reworking his roms and answering questions at all hours of the day. It would seem to be that he would be a needed commodity on this site, but alas, he is as expendable as anyone else.
