Just bought an OEM CMDA battery 1340mah on ebay for $2.42 plus $5 shipping+handling!!

In fact, this has worked out so well, maybe I should wash all my electronics -- my computer does seem a little dusty these days, lol

Thanks again for all your help guys. Once I get the new battery and confirm everything is working, I will put together a sticky. I am sure a lot of other people could use this information in a jam!

try draining the battery, then put it in the freezer overnight
