Re: 6.5 vs 6.1

Like I said before, if you are happy with 6.1, then just be happy. This notion of 6.5 being slower is just wrong. The newest builds of 6.5 benchmark at the same performance of your fast 6.1 builds. Test for yourself if you don't believe it -- I have, which is why I know that I am right. |

i have not done any benchmarking, but i have used your rom, which is highly regarded in this forum, and have cooked several other 6.5 roms, including the 2 latest wm6.5 builds, and, to me, it is just not that responsive compare to a wm6.1 rom. ps. i was also really surprise that you went with 6.5 rom only since the last several wm6.5 builds. i think you are the only chief with wm6.5 only rom. but again, your 6.5 rom is highly regarded here. You can disagree all you want, but until you've benchmarked various builds with the same OEM base, it doesn't really mean much. 6.5 has better memory and power management plain and simple. You can even look at Mighty's own benchmarks. You can see that though the Mighty/Slience 6.1 perform's about 0.1% better than mine in benchmarks they are on the same par: http://www.lilrico.com/Mighty/mightyromblog/?p=22 Last edited by indagroove; 07-05-2009 at 12:49 PM. |

Until this post, I was viewing this thread largely as one of those "I've come here for an arguement" efforts. Thanks for the data, Indagroove. So, based on these benchmarks, any drawbacks that a user "percieves" from the 6.5 transation, are purely related to usability and are not due to the xip/sys in 6.5 being slower than 6.1. Good stuff! Best regards, -boggsie

Sadthai ... maybe I'm just confused, but I thought that 21501 was 6.5, or were you referencing 21051?
