Just the facts, m'am </Joe Friday>

Until this post, I was viewing this thread largely as one of those "I've come here for an arguement" efforts.

Thanks for the data, Indagroove.

So, based on these benchmarks, any drawbacks that a user "percieves" from the 6.5 transation, are purely related to usability and are not due to the xip/sys in 6.5 being slower than 6.1. Good stuff!

Re: 6.5 vs 6.1

the benchmark shows mightyrom 4, which is base on 6.1 is the fastest, especially VS bench 3, it beats one wm6.5 rom by almost 200 points.

Well, statistically, the difference between the fastest average and Groove rom is less than 3%. As a group, all the bench marked roms are very close ... as a matter of fact, too close for the user to even tell the difference. With that being said, the argument that 6.1 is faster than 6.5 is just not true.

Re: 6.5 vs 6.1

Just to be fair, those are graphical benchmarks only. CPU and data processing benchmarks must be done with SPB Benchmark.

BTW, SYS 23003 benchmarks slower than 23001.

You can customize the Start menu that much? I like it!

Re: 6.5 vs 6.1

I would say 6.1 is noticable faster in one area from my experience. When you tap and hold on a file or folder in the file explorer it takes a little longer in 6.5 for the menu to pop up while its blazingly fast in 6.1. Is this due to a graphical drawing difference since the menu in 6.5 is larger than in 6.1?

Re: 6.5 vs 6.1

i think i have been converted...... installed mighty rom 6... booooy!!! what blazing speed!

i only have about 5 min experience with it, and im lovin the speed (almost like a well done 6.1, if not - equal)

to answer the start menu issue, i realized that i have to manually alter it - like this rom http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=74084

lets see how this 6.5 rom goes..........

Re: 6.5 vs 6.1

yeah I don't think ill go back to 6.1. And when 6.5 officially comes out there really wont be a reason to use it.

Re: 6.5 vs 6.1

I didnt even realize there was a speed diference between the two so apparently thats a non issue for me lol. Three things make me love the 6.5. I hardly ever have to use the stylus, everything I use is on 2 pages (Home and Start) and with the transparency of the home screen and the way the background image is used on the top and bottom task bars whatever background you're using is basically your theme.

Re: 6.5 vs 6.1

after using mighty rom 6, its good. almost as good as the mighty rom 4.
but i may be switching back to win 6.1.

theres a slight noticeable lag when launching an app on a 6.5, and especially moving from one program to another.

6.1 is still the most responsive - it my humble opinion.
